They should be able to give you a shot of morphine in your IV. It doesn't hurt to ask if you can have something since you are still in pain. Use the 1-10 pain scale to let them know.

I never know how to answer that. I would imagine extreme pain would be a gunshot wound, broken bone, childbirth, etc. I've never broken a bone (except for a little toe), so I figure I've never experienced pain above a 4 or 5 or so, if that. Dontknow
