I had a fun little occurrence this weekend. Sunday we all went to a local auction to check out furniture and appliance for DD. Nothing she wanted. DH had some wild urge for Texas toast so I ran into the store to get some. In the foyer there is a bulletin board that I rarely remember to look at it. I remembered. There was an ad for a leather coach, loveseat, chair, and ottoman for $350 and a few other odds and ends listed.
I wrote down the number, grabbed the bread, went back to the car and called DD. Figured if she was interested we could check it out before she drove back to town. (Remember, we live in a dinky town, 8 miles outside of a little town. We took 2 cars to the auction in case we wanted to stay and she didn't). I called, no answer, left message, went home.
Guy called me back, said the the stuff was in a storage unit in Dinky town. Welll.... how conveeeenient. We went to look. Furniture is like new, not a mark on it, really nice. Bought it for less than the asking price.
We set it out of the unit and onto the sidewalk so he could leave. DD and DH ran home (6 blocks) to dump her car and get our van to haul it. He hadn't left yet and was talking to me and asked if I wanted that box and pointed to a 2' x 2' x 2' box and said it's full of dog toys. Umm, yeah! I asked if he just wanted to sell the whole box or what and what he wanted for it. He said, "noooo, you can just have it".
OMG. Heidi now has 2 back packs, a car seat belt harness, lots of new toys, an elevated dog feeding station for bigger dogs that will probably go to DD's new house (I have elevated dished), more dishes than we'll ever use, booties (which crack me up), just tons of really nice, nice dog stuff, and some excellent toys. Oh! There is a lined orange vest thing for a hunting dog that I will offer the neighbor's kid's hunting lab -- oh, and it has matching booties too.
So, there's my long winded story or "my daughter bought furniture and a guy gave me a box of nice dog stuff.
walked with crutches to train then took train to PT. took me one and a half hour each way, in part because i am very slow on crutches cos it hurts so much.
get there, therapist says a warm hello. then receptionist goes to check me in and says we don't have you until tomorrow! huh? they'd given me the wrong info a month ago when we made appointments. pffft.
1.5 hours back on foot and by train.
so 3 hours roundtrip all for nothing. and intense nerve pain down from shoulder to fingers (my injured shoulder does not like the crutch) all for nothing.
then i try to post on craigslist. get phone verification message. put in phone. no message.
try again. no message.
go to try again, it says, nope you've tried too many times. wait 12 hours.
3 hours later, i get one of two of the confirmation messages. can't use em of course.
go to try again, submit posting, it says sent you an email. it has been 2 hours. no email. i'm guess craigs is running slow.
add to that the seemingly daily dose of family drama these days, and i am so not having fun.
good news: it is sunny with blue skies, and gorgeousness outside.
good news part 2: my insurance changes finally came through
good news part 3: i have an appointment with the pain clinic next week, and the hope is that they might be able to help erase the pain pathways in my brain and create new, clear, pain-free signals.

How is your basement?
won't be on much for a long time. we got almost 8 inches of water in the basement when the power went out around 12.30am sunday. around 1.30am heard an alarm sound, went down to the basement and look at the house alarm, dh goes *how do you turn it off?*

Fridge is not working, freezer works fine.. I could see the water condensation inside, and little pool of water underneath the last tray. I was wondering since yesterday something looked amiss and this afternoon when i was reheating the lunch, found the food to be spoiled, checked other food stuffs, dairy... it sure smells different.
Called DH, he says what he can do when he is working
Now i dont want to think about the grocery shopping i did this morning...

basement: dry now. needs cleaning. as do the piles and piles of things stacked up in the foyer and living area. there's hardly room to walk. double ugh-ville.

do you have any ice bags at home? or can you get some quick?
put the groceries you got today into insulated bags with the ice in it. or in a large cooler with the ice in it. you should be okay for several hours that way.
are the fridge and freezer one unit? if so, are you sure fridge door wasn't left open?
or is this part of the result from the faulty outlet that killed the rice cookers?

they tried. but he was booked solid. this therapy place is always very busy, and this therapist is always very busy. he works hard at prioritizing me, and giving me extra time. i'm almost always there for 2 hours on a 30 min appt. So I couldn't be mad at them for not being able to fit me in. Ah well, Slowtech said walking with crutches is great exercise. Maybe it helped me work off some of the hazelnut milk chocolate I ate this afternoon in despair?

I'm excited! We just booked another week in Minnesota fishing. Called and reserved a cabin last night. We are going back to the where we went last summer. I'm ready to go but unfortunately, it's 3 1/2 weeks away!

And I absolutely could not live without my dairy. So if thats whats causing these sinus issues I'm just going to have to deal with it. When you mentioned that a while back I started thinking about my diet. Nearly half my calories are dairy. I think it started when I took antibiotics for a whole summer about 10 years ago-eventually all I could keep down was plain yogurt.
