How about a good old apple pie? You do need sugar but you will need sugar for any kind of dessert. Otherwise, you probably have everything you need. Crust just needs flour, egg, and I use butter, some use shortening or lard. Pie filling you just need sugar and cinnamon. I use a little nutmeg sometimes but hate cloves so I never use that.
Do you have a lot of apples you need to use up or just a few? If you have a lot -- as in a bushel or two, you can make pie filling or even whole pies and freeze them.
We had apples trees. I used to make whole pies, double bag them and freeze. When we wanted one, I went straight from freezer to oven and bake it at 200 - 250 for 3 or 4 hours. Oh, were those some good pies.
I am really hoping to get a yard sale together for next weekend.. My garage is just busting at the seems with stockpile stuff that I need to get rid of.. Even if I don't sell it all, I need to move some of it!
And, I got some great news yesterday.. My 14 year old DS has been on seizure medication for 9 years..
We retn yesterday night.. Missed the darn connecting flight in london, no avaiable seats for the past two days, those are 2 awful days (me with 2 kids confined in a hotel room, is the worst thing that has happened to me for while :s ad:

Can you imagine DH never told me about the hurricane Irene... I am roaming like a zombie and have no idea whatsoever. My friend alerted me yesterday night.. this morning I went shopping that i couldn't even find a can of water...atleast found some groceries.. thankfully we are not in the predicted path, but we are in the flood watch area...

Our target is coupon hell here lately so I haven't been much. But this might be worth an extra trip or 2. lol
Had a nice morning at church, lunch, and then a great trip to target tonight.. I have stocked up on so many bathing suits with that 3.00 xhiliaration coupon. There are tons of girls suits for 3.24 clearance.. DH asked why I keep getting them. I can't resist .24 suits!
won't be on much for a long time. we got almost 8 inches of water in the basement when the power went out around 12.30am sunday. around 1.30am heard an alarm sound, went down to the basement and look at the house alarm, dh goes *how do you turn it off?*
i don't think it's that so i walk around and it gets louder by the boiler and all of a sudden there is water on the floor! water alarm is the best investment if you have a basement!!! water was rising quick, brought up what we could, stacked plastic bins.
dh went to sleep around 3.30 or so, i stayed up taking stuff out of wet cardboard boxes till 6.30am and rescuing stuff i heard toppling over. up again at 9.30am, bff's dh came about an hr later, checked if sump pump was working. continuously pumping and helped redirect water further away from the house w/ his shopvac hose and gutter blocks. he just called an hr ago to make sure we knew what to do next. my estimation of him has gone up 100%. took a cold shower, dh got a hot shower b/c i hadn't turned the water on all the way. i had to take a nap from i don't know when, somewhere bet 2-3something till past 7pm.
sump pump has emptied the entire basement
btw- plastic bins didn't cut it. except for a few that were really weighed down by extra heavy stuff, the rest started floating and most stacks toppled over in those 3hrs that i slept. i think i lost a about 3 bins toys and mini summer seasonal, most of a bin of 90off xmas paper goods, etc. rest of stuff was mostly junky yardsale stuff i don't really care about.
i'm going to buy more plastic shelving and stuff will have to be elevated off the floor, probably on the 3rd shelf up unless it can get wet. bff's dh is going to buy a generator for next time. she was incredibly lucky, most people in our development got flooded, her basement carpet gets wet footprints and another area was getting water but not flooded. he told me somebody had a backup sump pump that ran 4hrs. i think generator and extra sump pump is a better combo.
ok, dinner over, time to start cleaning up.

They apologized and it's on it's way. I told them I forgive them, but, but, but, word of mouth for bad costumer service won't help their company. They said they were really sorry, and I again told them I forgive them and if my pup likes the toys, I will officially forgive them. They laughed at me! Anyhoo, not a biggie..can't wait for them to arrive.
