DD is looking for a new bedding for her new house.
I thought I saw some bedding being marked down at T. I don't need any, so I really didn't pay attention.
L2S - I am so sorry for your loss
Ank - how's the new house coming along?
GG - yay for an appt.-free day!!!
ST - prayers that you get your basement taken care of
m2c - gotta love that kind of stuff...glad their CS was fast and helpful; that is definitely the next best thing
It has been a long couple of weeks here. Just problem after problem but I am still loving the town and neighborhood and how much more space we have....and the dishwasher...
DH is going into a shift bid phase at work this week and should know his new schedule by Sept. 16th. Basically he could get stuck with a multitude of schedules, some good some bad. Currently he works 10AM-7PM Saturday-Weds. with Thurs. and Fri. off. A lot of the available schedules begin between 11-2PM and end 8.5-9 hrs. later respectively. Some of them are more regular hrs. It will just depend on a lot of factors. *sigh* We did the later shift thing when we were first married and actually liked it...but with kids it's just not nearly as feasible and I don't know what we'll do
In other news, dd is going to start going to this little AM preschool out here this coming Tues. I love her to death but she got so used to having someone to play with all day with my niece here that now that she isn't here she depends on me for all entertainment all. day. long. And while I love her dearly I can't get much done and we have a LOT more to do right now than usual. We finally have this huge playroom for her to be in and she won't play by herself at all!! This community is so small that this is pretty much where all the kids her age are during the day. She will have fun. I must say it is nice to have at least a small stockpile of school supplies in this unexpected situation
We found out last Thursday that she had passed away in utero, just shy of 25 weeks. I was admitted into L&D on Friday and had her a little after midnight on Saturday morning. She was 13 ounces and looked perfect. We don't know exactly what caused her to pass, but she had Downs Syndrome, a resolved Cystic Hygroma, and potentially 2 heart defects. We are very sad and miss Hope Elizabeth.
I was able to go home before the hurricane, but we ended up losing power for 3 days. Setsail has been a great friend and sent some great resources to help me deal with this.
I'm still recovering from childbirth, but hope to be out and about by this weekend. I am in desperate need of shopping to keep my mind off everything going on.
Hugs to everyone who has supported me through these difficult and crazy months. It's hard to believe it's only been 3 months since this all started.
gt, the duvet cover I used had fasteners in the corners to clip the comforter in so it didn't move around.
I am still looking for an inexpensive US History for my DS.. I wanted Bob Jones or Abeka.. but haven't found anything in my price range yet.
Also, gonna look around for some kind of curriculum to start working with my youngest.. we already do phonics stuff and she recognizes some letters.. She knows colors, shapes, etc.. but, we need to work on recognizing numbers too. It has been awhile and I can't remember what I used to teach the others at the beginning..
The 11 year age gap caused me to forget a few things..
I am going to look into HOP, or SIng, Spell, Read, and Write as Gt suggested... There was another one I remember.. learning to read in 60 lessons or something to that effect..
Need to research some stuff! I am excited to have a little one to work with again. I
Drinking tea made in my fancy lady machine.
Baby is sick, I think I have a cold, barely shopped though I continually intend to get out, but my coupons are finally organized. Okay, they *were* and then I went and printed some from coupons.com and its going to be shambles here again.
I don't know if there's much else to report.
Happy Friday morning to all!!!
teenbean, adorable haircut. and i love how she instinctively knows to strike a model pose in both pictures. amazing what kids pick up.
morning all other creatures of the friendly kind.
off to shower. 1.5 hour commute to PT. 2 hours of PT. 1.5 hour commute back. (should be 25 mins each way, but with crutches et al, i am slooooow).
then family wants to YS tomorrow, but date was finalized last nite! oy! so all this stuff needs pulling out, arranging, tagging, listing. i am skeered as to how i will get so much physical stuff done with so much pain.
but here i go, with faith and prayer.
hope you all have a GOOD, GOOD day!

Slick -
Thanks for all the well wishes. The house is coming along, though I think we are stalled a bit in doing some details. I need to hem up the kids curtains, find the rest of our books for the bookshelves in the living room, and get something for the bathrooms in the way of shelving. Between $$ and just time and willpower, not as much has been accomplished lately! But, it's getting there.
GG - I hope your day goes well and smooth and with as little pain as possible.
Poor Miss M has a fever still. She's sleeping now - been cuddly and kind of blah all morning. She kept sitting with me and snuggling me.

Morning everyone
the bins i've been buying are too tall for the home depot plastic shelving so will have to shop around this wknd.
also need to buy a new dehumidifier. any recommendations? the last one was a highly rated whirlpool from costco which ended up very noisy and conked out after 2-3 yrs. my neighbor bought a danby which was highly rated and hers is still working but the ratings this yr were not good.
The bedding that DD is replacing is a comforter, so if it were dark or heavy enough she could use a duvet and use the old comforter inside.
i think the key is that it's the right size so the corners and edges match up and that the comforter material isn't really slippery like satin. i think friction keeps it in place but something like satin could slide around.
but here i go, with faith and prayer.

While we are that far, I think we might go into the next town -- where the Target is and run into Menards (a home store, like Home Depot or Lowes, only better). Their ad says they have 25% off clearance appliances. Might check it out for DD. She needs a stove and fridge.
Don't know that I will go to Target at all. I guess I should scan the wiki and deals and see if there is anything I can't miss.
Gotta come home and throw some chairs in the van and pack a change of clothes. Going to Minnesota tomorrow morning and staying the night. Going to a riverblast to listen to some bands, including the band of a kid my husband trained. Traditional music -- bluegrass, folk. I've been dieting again so pray that there is nasty food that I don't want.
I hope everybody has something fun planned for the weekend -- or just a nice relaxing time at home.

Shift change, well, I was going to say, adjust your and her schedule to his. So what if you kid is up all night and sleeps all day if that is YOUR schedule. But then you went and screwed that up with that AM preschool.
but, we need to work on recognizing numbers too.

Reading in 60 Easy Lessons -- I remember just exactly what you are talking about but I don't remember the exact title either.
Numbers -- just grab some cheap workbooks and refrigerator magnets. If you do the SSRW, I'm pretty sure it teaches numbers too. I can't swear to that but I think so.
