Soxfan, p&pt for your dd's surgery. I'm sorry that your family isn't there to help you, like you are for them.

L2B, yikes on the no sleep!

gg, sorry your yard sale was a bust. hug

M2C, hope your ds has a good day at school! Same for all the other chat kiddos returning to school. Smilie

Our soon to be 4 yr old usually refers to himself in the 3rd person, as in when he asks for something, he says, monkey toddler would like.... I am not mommy, I'm monkey toddler's mommy, and yes he will say that when asking me to get something for him. Dh was really not referred to all until recently, and he is now T-George. I guess like T-Rex? I asked why he called daddy that and he said because T-George is HUGE and BIG. I told him, no, that's daddy. Little snot said no, daddy's at work, that's T-George. laugh out loud Never a dull moment around here.

Good morning everybody! Hope you all had a nice long weekend. We went to MN Sat. morning and most of the afternoon at an outside traditional music thing. Came home Sunday. It's a 2 hours drive from there to here. It took us a little over 10 hours. laugh out loud We drove around and gawked at stuff -- some of it out of our way, fished a little, had some dinner, fished some more...

So far, it looks like everything is going as planned and DD will finally close on her house this Friday. I have to call and check on a drop off place for UPS this morning to make sure stuff can go overnight from there. She wires the money, signs and emails a few things, UPSes the original. Poof, it's done. I thought about scheduling a pick up and we wouldn't even have to leave the house, but she will get a prepaid UPS label and I'm sure it won't have a pick up fee paid.

This dang chihuahua is in heat again. At least there is no mess but she is trying to sexually assault Heidi -- who just ignores her. Right now she is standing over there right next to her twitching her tail and Heidi is just laying there sleeping. I hope she doesn't do the false pregnancy this time. Poor little thing.

Today's agenda -- check on UPS and CLEAN THIS HOUSE.

Me too. Then I had one of those email attacks and one was sent to everybody in my address book and it look like it came from me. My nephew thought it was hilarious. I didn't ask the attorney what they thought. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Thinking of hitting up target for a little shopping today.. guess we will see how things go.

good morning. First day of school for my DDs. youngest started Kindergarten this morning. She was very excited to get on the bus this morning. I didn't even cry. I'm so glad that they have started school. It would take me an hour drive to drop them off at the babysitters and then another hour to pick them up. That is TWO hours of my life back. Plus I no longer have to pay the babysitter. That is $225 a week that I get to keep. It's like the best raise I have ever received Dance13Dance13Dance13

Can gift card balances still be looked up online? I searched the heck out of t.com and couldn't find it! Frown they changed everything around! I do not want to call for each GC I have. They all got mixed up so about 15 empty ones are mixed with the 3 or 4 with some $$ left on them.

Oh My..Is that how much daycare is these days? Now I know why I opted to stay home with mine. lol
Congrats on your new found raise and time! I cried when mine went to school, but now they are teenagers/adult and although I love it when they are home during school breaks, I am also glad when school starts. Have been deciding if it is time to find a job now that they no longer 'need' me as much. But would have to drive 45mi. to the next town over just to find work. With gas prices, I am just not sure it would be worthwhile?? Or maybe that is just my excuse now. Wink I always said I would work again when they were old enough to drive themselves. But it just doesn't seem that easy to do now, after all these years.
I tell my DH that I deserve some 'me' time now for awhile...Is that selfish? I hope not cause I am enjoying it so far. LOL

225 was just for an in-home babysitter for 2 kids. If I had to send them to daycare it would have been $337 per week EEK! I would have love to been a stay at home mom. But I was always the breadwinner when I was married and now that I'm not married I have to save every penny I can get.

If the link above doesn't work, on this page (below) look for the "check giftcard balance" in blue, along the left side of the page.

OMG..I know that it all depends on where you live as to the price of daycare but that is expensive. AND I used to be a state Daycare provider years ago, so this should really not be such a shock. I know how hard it is to care for little ones.
I was also a single mom so I do appreciate that aspect of having to save money. I guess that is why, when I got married to my DH, I made it a point to discuss our options. lol In other words, I gave him an advance notice as to wanting to be a stay at home mom with them. Then I opened a business with my parents and worked a schedule that let me be there to take/pick them up from school and be off on their days off. It worked out great. Then we closed our business and I have been at home with them ever since.

I really feel for those that have to pay daycare, it is a huge expense. My sister and aunt both have state licensed daycares and I am almost positive that the going rate around here is nowhere near that.
I am so excited for you!! Such a huge financial weight off your shoulders!

In the center I worked in before SAHM-hood it was $150+/wk. for an infant (went down and they got older) and that was considered a good deal for the quality of care for our area OMG

Well, dd's 1st day of preschool went really well. She didn't even want to say goodbye to us when we dropped her off nor did she notice me when I came to pick her up laugh out loud Well. She enjoyed herself and can't wait to go back tomorrow.
