Watch the Benadryl, there are 2 different ones. The 24ct capsules are around $1.64 but the 24ct caplets are about $1.87. Not a whole lot of difference but since DS will take either one, I go for the cheapest.Smilie

If you use this frequently Costco carries bottles of their brand of 300 for less than $5. They're caplets.

Thanks, that is a great deal. But of course I live in the middle of nowhere and there are no Costco's around this area. Sometimes I hate living in a small town in the middle of nowhere, but it does have its pluses (I keep telling myself that. lol)

LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea of a christmas basket with home-made goodies. that's what I've been planning do for christmas this year. except i haven't managed to do any preserving cos of pain, so I figured I would do canisters of recipe mixes:

soup
cookies
cakes
rice pilaf
couscous
fajita rub
etc....

and attach recipe cards to them. all organic of course. Big Grin
haven't thought it through fully, but I might make em thematic... so one would be like fajita rub, black bean mix etc... and then one could be all cookies and so forth. or maybe I'll do it as a meal in a basket. appetizer, entree, side dish, dessert. Big Grin


habanero hot sauce sounds fab! check out dave's gourmet hurtin' habanero sauces and hurtin' habanero honey mustard some time. we LOVE them both. might give your DH ideas for the future.

apples, we get premade sheets of phyllo or puff pastry. toss cut apples in lemon juice, brown sugar and cinnamon. put into pastry strips and fold over , then crimp edges, to make rectangular hand pies. brush with a melted sugar and butter mixture. bake in oven.

yummy hand pies!
in summer we do a similar thing with strawberries or blueberries. it's much like homemade pop tarts for breakfast. i pick whole wheat pastry and so it's even healthier. Big Grin

just got back from buying the paper. normally there are plenty of papers left late at nite. tonite there weren't even any partial papers left! the shelving unit that normally holds hundreds of papers was so incredibly clean. oh great! now i gotta go to the gas station b/c all the supermarkets already closed at 10pm. did get my free granola bar at least. drive past the walgreens across the street, hmmm, cvs sells papers, but the 2 nearby ones are closed, maybe walgreens also sells papers. u-turn, the paper rack is empty but i ask and they have one behind the counter. phew! i check, has all 6 coupon circulars, hmmm, so popular maybe i should get more. they have 1more left so i buy 2 papers for one of the first times in my life. driving past the lukoil/7-11, let me check if they sell papers too. another rack totally empty.

i was incredibly lucky tonite! but there'd better be some really good q's in there! the paper i was able to get carries the short versions of ss and rp so i don't get all the good q's. but for some reason the better, more expensive paper doesn't have the rp in the newsstand version. bff started a new subscription to it so i want to check that she got everything b4 i start a new 6-month discounted subscription.

somebody ripped some of the q's out of one of the papers i bought from walgreens.Mad so far they took the .50 colgate wisp ruining the optic white q below it and the .75/2 nature valley granola bar q's. i wasn't going to use those q's but still, that was stealing! and then i paid for a paper that somebody stole stuff out of.MadMadMad

I stopped by Walgreens yesterday to pick up one paper and they were all sold out. Unbelievable. Couponers have gone crazy.

It was allllllll over the blogs Sat. night that it was like a couponer's "Christmas Eve." Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) laugh out loud I mean, yes, there were several inserts + the P&G, but still I only got one more than I usually buy Dontknow There was a $8/2 Covergirl face products or whatever in the PG. I did know I'd need to stop early though. Local blogger posted that it was a "12 paper week"....and then I know that the newbs will be out in droves so I better go early LMAO

I got one paper yesterday. Had I had more spending money forecast for the month I may have gotten 2 but thats about it. I mean the q's were good but not THAT GOOD. IMHO the P&G weren't that great as you have to buy multiples of Tide products (remember the good old $1/1). And the makeup coupon is only so so to me. I need a new face powder so I'll look to work a deal that gets me that and then maybe try out a new lipstick or eyeshadow. I was going to do the Revlon deal from CVS a few weeks ago that made lipstick $1.99 after ECB but I didn't have a single Revlon Q I could use. But all in all I haven't seen any screaming deals lately.

So we have a change jar that we throw our loose change into each day, and today I decide to count and empty it. Last time we counted it was July 30 (about 2mo ago). Today's change jar had $50 in change and $155 in various giftcards (food and Disney). That is another $205 added to our disney fund without even really trying! We still have a LONG way to go and a SHORT time to get ther. LOL Our Disney trip is end of May 2012! DH and I have noticed , money has been tight this last few months with school starting and kids activities, that we have even been spending our change..gasp!! So now that we are settled into the school year a little more, it is time to get back to business and only spend bills, NO change!
Great way to save!

afternoon everybody.

way too many people decoding coupons hence some of the reason for the paper sellout. so annoying when people ask if certain bogos will go thru sco at the supermarket w/o intervention. i know you are up to no good. and then they wonder why retailers are cracking down on coupons. so irritating at my supermarket and now one of my targets is matching q's to what's on the screen. did anybody see the argo cornstarch and fleishmann yeast coupons? that is the weirdest databar i've ever seen.
