Niece surgery update. Tear was much worse than what the Dr expected, but he thinks he repaired it. She will be on crutches for 2 weeks minimum.

Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers.

Used up all my Scott IPs tonight. :yay: Gave some TP and PT to my sisters for babysitting my kids so hubby and I could go out for dinner. Big Grin They would do it for nothing, but it makes me feel good to give them something in return.

We went to Red Lobster and had a nice time, just chatting and stuffing our faces. Felt good to not have kids and just be with each other.

Hope everyone is having a nice day!

And I think I might have gotten myself in trouble in the RA thread, but seriously, enough is enough!

So my post got deleted, like I knew it would, but at least I feel a little better. Bullies, even passive/agressive ones, need to know that their behavior is not ok. nod

Trying to decide where to spend my energy tomorrow - CVS or RA or Target? Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

at least tell us which rite aid thread and who is the bully. i went over to the ds forum and i saw at least 3 RA threads- chat, this wks and next wks thread. don't do RA so no clue where to even look.

seems like target is clearancing out groceries but it's almost never anything i want. otherwise doesn't seem anything real exciting except furniture. don't do RA and don't do CVS anymore so can't help w/ those 2.

Are you gonna miss your oldest DD when she leaves this fall/late summer? Sounds like you will (or maybe you just don't want to think about it quite yet). Start stocking up on towels, bath carrier (to haul to the shower), quarters (for the laundry), gift cards (that you can send on special occasions...halloween, valentine's, st. patrick's day, etc)

My niece is having surgery tomorrow in Nashville on her foot.
Yep, I will miss her.. She thinks she is ready and very excited, but I think she will miss us more than she realizes Smilie

When the bath TQ was out last year, I got her tons of bath stuff Wink towels, carrier, basket, etc taken care of.. and yes, I was telling DH the other day that I need to take note next trip up there about what eating places and gas stations are near there so I can get her some GC.

Please tell me more about your dinner without kids. I need to live vicariously through someone! The last time my husband & I went out alone was in Dec for our anniversary and the time before that was for our anniversary 365 days prior. Sadwalk

Cathi, I'm sorry for your loss.

Okay Thrift.. It is high time you have a date night Smilie you deserve it! Time to pay your DD with some gift cards for a night of babysitting! Or pay someone else with stockpile items for an evening of peace and quiet..

I love my kiddos tons.. but, also love a dinner where I don't have to pick up toys, crayons, etc from under the table.. don't make 3 trips to the bathroom (starting as soon as the food arrives).. don't have to cut up anyone's food.. and can carry on adult conversation..
Heck, I don't even care if we go to a fast food place!

We were trying for a date night once every other week, but that hasn't happened as much lately.. Seems like we are always so crazy busy with everything else..

Speaking of busy. I can't wait until the end of the school year. I need life to slow down just a bit. Between working, homeschooling, trying to do enough housework so that we can atleast walk through the house and have dishes to eat on, and running 20 different directions, I am worn out..

yesterday was my "off day".. well, off from my paying job, but I swear I was more tired than the day I actually went to my job.. Started out early taking DD to a music practice, went to a meeting for DS high school planning, picked up DD, went to the grocery store, back and picked up DS from home and took him to the doctor, picked up RX for him, took him home, cleaned for a few mins, made dinner, and left to take DD to a recital.. felt like I was in the car all day!!

Anyway, tonight is our last band concert and choir concert of the year.. I am on call for 48 hours this weekend, so don't know how much rest I will get, but I am hopeful! We just need to make it through exams next week, a play next weekend, plus finishing our graduation invitations, and we are gonna be almost done.. I am so ready for a vacation.. The beach is calling my name!

Sounds like a Meniscus Tear? My DD had a real bad one, worst her dr has ever seen, it was totally torn and flipped to the other side, she had to have anchors left in there, like 4 and had to wear a splint on her leg for about 5 weeks, she name it her transformer that was in Oct. She had 4 weeks of PT and is now doing great. I hope your niece recovers just as fast as my DD, they thought it would take her 2 months longer to get back to Color Guard and Dance but she was determined and she got back sooner.

It was me that had the meniscus tear (knee) last July.

This was surgery in her foot instead. She got hurt playing college BB in December and the trainer and team Dr. said it was all in her head, but duh, they never took an MRI, only an X-ray. She's on the mend, and that's what's important. I'm just praying that she'll be back up to snuff before the BB practice season starts.

Sorry could not find original post to see what the exact injury was for your niece. I am sure she will, she is young and they bounce back fast/faster.

How is your knee doing? I had one a few years ago but not that bad, still have problems with it, hoping my DD doesn't. So good so far.

Embarrassment and laugh out loud I love shopping but I tell ya, T shopping is just causing more frustration than anything lately. Good thing I'll be forced into a break for a little while.

anybody know anything about external hard drives? like can you back up multiple computers on one hard drive or is it one per computer? i'm thinking of doing this deal but getting the 1T instead of the 2T b/c dh said our computer doesn't even have 500gb but i dunno, we have a lot of pictures. anybody know how to see how much memory the pictures in picasa has taken up???
https://slickdeals.net/f/4259216-Seagate-GoFlex-Desk-2TB-External-Hard-Drive-USB-3-0-85-tax-coupon?v=1

if one external hard drive can back up more than one computer than i would get a larger one cuz then we could back up dh's laptop too.

was also talking to dh's friend and he said you really need 2 external hard drives, you need another one to back up the first one. i've heard this b4 but i don't want to buy 2 of the same thing, so i will get one now and then wait for another deal to come along. he also said they die about every 2 yrs and that's exactly what has happened w/ this one and the previous one.
Well, technically dh said you don't need to do a back up of a back up. He said back up once a month and then put the external drive away.

To find out how much drive space the file takes up, easiest way I know how is to go to the start menu, scroll to the file name, right click and then select properties. Under the general tab, it will show how much data is in the file. (info taken from Windows Vista, 7, etc but should apply in most Windows based pcs)

Good afternoon! uggh I mean evening.

Well, we did it. We finally found a decent used car for my DS. I am soo not sure I am ready for this. Frown
He just left to take himself to baseball practice..without me.
They grow up so fast. I have had moments lately where I couldn't wait till he could just take himself to do his activities, but now that it is actually happening, I feel kinda sad.
I am sure this will pass and I will soon be at target shopping and not have to worry about what time I am home (won't have to be home to pick him up from school) and loving it!

We ended up getting a Mitsubishi eclipse GT. I was terrified that the insurance was going to be outrageous but surprised when it was actually quite resonable..for a young guy with a sportscar. lol His 4.0 grade point average helped get him a discount of $20.xx a month! Loved that.

Anyways, haven't had time to even read up on my threads today. Hoping I can catch up later tonight.
What is up with not getting any new TQ's this week?? Come on target.
hug congrats to your son on his new-to-him car!

My oldest just got her permit last month and is still intimidated by driving more than a mile or two. Dh is content to let her circle around in our neighborhood. I keep pushing the comfort level and making her drive in more complex situations.

Good morning Wave coffee is going down as we speak Smilie Gearing up for the day!

Had a great night last night at my kids end of the year concert. My DD amazes me how she doesn't seem to get nervous. They allow all of the senior students to perform a solo thing of their choice if they desire at the last concert. Can be played on their instrument, singing a song, performing sign language to a song, or a dance number.. anything that they teach at the fine arts academy where they attend. So, out of the 7 seniors, only 2 were brave enough this year. My daughter played the piano and sang a song. (And I must say it was beautiful.. but I am partial Smilie) Anyway, this was by far the largest crowd she has ever performed in front of, and she just doesn't get nervous at all.. I am totally jealous because I can't get in front of people. Makes me almost sick.

Stayed up until after 1 am helping her with graduation invitations.. got the call at 8:30 that I have to go in to work today for a few cases already.. Now, I am dressed and drinking my coffee, trying to get motivated..

Hoping to get in a little shopping today as well.. Not much, since I have kinda sworn off target for awhile.. But, I would like to go by Wags and get a few more of the Kotex (guess it is still rolling) and hit CVS too!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday woot
