I had been good, but I just bought a new purse during the online Factory sale...
will give you a specific example. in 1988 i went to italy and bought ferragamos for around $120. back then i never bought shoes for more than $40, usually more like $20-30. even now i don't want to spend more than $40 and i will never spend $100+ for shoes. i wore them for special occasions and occasionally for work. kept them in great condition and b/c they are made so well the heels don't wear out like normal shoes. but they went out of fashion because those pointed witchy shoes came into fashion and the ferragamos are rounded square toes. i'm pretty sure i didn't wear them much after 1995ish. i had a pair of etienne aigner black patent leather pumps from 1996 (i know i wore them for my then bff's wedding) that i wore for fancy occasions for about 10 yrs.
so my very expensive ferragamos just sat in my closet for almost 2 decades just gathering dust.
this spring i noticed that ferragamos are back in fashion but updated to two-tone. bow and heel are a different color from the rest of the shoe. luckily i can still wear my shoe b/c it just happens to be black patent and black patent is in this summer and usually not two-tone. luckily my college roommate and her twin sister taught me to always buy classic if you are going to buy high end. ok, wow! my shoes now cost $425!

however, i also bought a real nice pair of those short leather cowboy booties for $100 back in the early 90's. unfortunately my feet grew a little and they were just a little short so i only wore them less than 5 times. also sat in my closet for almost 20 yrs and then i noticed they were back in fashion again for the last couple yrs but the toe is now rounded, not pointed like real cowboy boots. i did find one pair, i think by steve madden, that looked just like mine. last yr i gave them to my god-daughter who luckily just needed a little padding at the ankle for them to fit. she said she would wear them but who knows. i know her mom wears the same size so hopefully somebody will wear them. but for me, that was a waste of $100.
same thing is happening to coach. the 80's style bags are back in fashion again but they are a little different. many now have a tassel and/or key fob. and the shape is similar to the 80's but many are two-toned, perforated or patterned while the real 80's were heavy, solid bags meant to last forever. they are calling it the legacy collection which is a little updated, and the classic collection which is same shape as those 30 yrs ago but lighter weight leather. even if you had one of those 80's bags, you wouldn't want to use it now. weighs a ton!

now usually, but not always, high end brands are also manufactured of high quality materials that will last a very long time, sometimes longer than you wish. so even if you use it every day, it will last a lot longer than the cheap disposable stuff from places like target (ahem! even their furniture and bbq grills do not really last more than 3-5 yrs. current bff has both and complained about them falling apart after 2 yrs).
so my advice is to use your coach bag frequently, esp if it is leather. it is made to hold up to a little wear and tear and enjoy it while it is in fashion.
b/c in a few yrs it will be out of fashion and if you didn't get your enjoyment out of it, it will have been a waste of money. there is no guarantee that it will ever come back in fashion again and who knows what your situation will be in 20-30 yrs even if it does.

online searches indicate the problem isn't just with me but no one has actually posted any solutions.
Looks like Virgin mobile did an upgrade/change a couple of months ago and a lot of SMS texts stopped working.
Opened a cs ticket with Virgin --- useless. Called Virgin cs, useless. Target website still has Virgin on the list as accepted provider. Re-enrolled with Target.
Checked my settings, short codes aren't blocked & I am still getting REDBOX texts.
I know this is a shot in the dark but if anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it.
