Well, Daniel and Penny are step-siblings, right? So I assume that means Penny is Widmore's daughter and Daniel is Eloise's son. I wonder if we'll find out who Penny's biological mother and Daniel's biological father are in either timeline. Confused

Wait, are Daniel and Penny step-siblings or half-siblings? Now I'm confusing myself. Embarrassment
They're half-siblings. Faraday was always the son of Widmore and Eloise. But they weren't together as husband and wife in the main timeline, only in the alternate.

A few observations I made about last night's episode:
1. There are some obvious references here to the season 3 episode "Flashes Before your Eyes" and the season 4 episode "The Constant". Especially of interest is the fact that Desmond passed out when he shook Penny's hand...it leads me to believe that the two timelines are not co-existing simultaneously, as one's consciousness can't exist in both places at the same time. Personally, I think this further reinforces my theory that the flash-sideways timeline is actually taking place in the future, and that the events of season 6 are actually leading up to the creation of that timeline.

2. Unlike previous instances that Desmond flashed through time, he doesn't appear to be suffering from any disorientation. I wonder why.

3. Eloise once again seems to transcend the laws of time and space. She seems completely aware of what's going on in the past, present, and future when nobody else does. Is she somehow related to Jacob?

4. So Widmore is sending Desmond on a mission to the main island with the intent of exposing him to an extreme amount of electromagnetic energy. As far as we know, there are two such sources on the island. One was destroyed (the Swan), while one may still be around (the Orchid). Maybe Desmond is going to attempt to destroy the Orchid station? Or maybe Desmond is going to turn the wheel to send the island through time once more, but he won't end up in Tunisia like everybody else.

My husband and I have watched this show since day one, no matter what we at least DVR it. We are amazed because the last episode airs the day before he leaves for active military duty.

I see, kind of like how Boone and what's-her-face are half-siblings. (Speaking of which, I'm surprised we haven't seen them in the flash-sideways world).

It's funny how Widmore and Eloise were married in the alt. world, but not in the original world. But for Jin and Sun, it's the opposite in both worlds.

Uh, Boone and Shannon are step-siblings, not half siblings. Her dad and his mom got married, they are not blood related. I'm not sure ABC would allow real incest to hit the airwaves like that, lol.

Gah, I'm way too freaking confused. I can't keep my head wrapped around a lot of it anymore. Frown I'm
bummed. However, as a true Lostie, I shall weather this storm and keep truckin' and hang in there til the end (simultaneously crossing my fingers that they write some
type of "tell-all" book to hold my hand and guide me through wtf just happened these past few mindfarks of seasons ) laugh out loud

So I guess I'm in for the ride... Now you guys resume sounding all smart and stuff and I'll pretend like I'm along the same line of thought. Carry on Popcorn

I started thinking about it and couldn't understand how in the world the DI managed to get all the stuff they needed to the island. The VW vans, all the concrete/etc. for building the swan, the big drill thingy that the blew up....they couldn't have brought it all on the sub.

We never know if ABC would've allowed incest like that since it'd only be half real incest (1 parent) and not the West Virginian kind of incest (both parents). Harhar

Maybe they moved the island into the middle of a shopping complex, loaded it up with stuff, then moved it somewhere else. bulb

The 'Lost' finale: ABC makes a night of it [cnn.com]

Quote from CNN :

ABC is seeking to make an all-night event out of the series finale of "Lost" on Sunday, May 23. TheWrap.com reports that prior to the two-hour episode that night at 9 p.m. ET, there will be a two-hour retrospective. Then later that night, one of the most famous "Lost" fanatics, Jimmy Kimmel, will do a special "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in honor of the show.

So, "Lost" fans will be able to get their fill of the show - and then some - on the final night with five full hours of programming.

Maybe Walmart put a store on the island at one time?....they probably ended up leaving after their employees kept getting shot with flaming arrows, jumping randomly through time, and seeing dead people.

Whee Whee Whee Whee Whee

Was I supposed to know Faraday was Widmore's son before Widmore said that he lost a son to the island?
