I liked everything until Jacks dad showed up alive, and of course, leave it for the writers of LOST to cause more confusion. The whole alternate dimension thing was just doesn't make sence.
Now they are confusing me, cause now I don't know what to believe.
They should have just let Jimmy ask the questions.....and they needed the producers there
...btw, I recognize that knife Terry had....it's too bad they stopped making the Tigershark, I might watch for one on ebay....this thread is awesome for other knife lovers:

that was a crappy ending!
Nothing was really answered when you really look at it but somehow I feel satisfied
im left with a bunch of questions when i thought they'd all be answered

Anyway, I finally finished seeing 4.5 hours of "Lost" on my DVR. Man that was long! I know this thread has blown up and I'll catch up to posts eventually. I'll just say the happy ending nice and kind of expected, but there was way too much sappy orchestral music in the final 2.5 hours. And it 1 big love fest, but was good to see all the "Lost" characters reunite as couples and be "Found" together.
RIP "Lost". It was a fun and sometimes frustrating ride over the past 6 years. Now onto the burial of "24" tonight.
Since this place where The Island never existed to them, they are free to act out their lives as if Oceanic 815 had really landed. Since LA X is off of the linear timeline, people who have died in the past are reunited with people who died years in the future and look the same as they did at or around the time of the original crash.
They think that the LA X world is their normal lives until they become aware that "oh crap I'm dead". So sideways LOST was sort of a purgatory that their souls went to after death and once they reconnected with their loves or made peace with the past, they can move on. It kind of reminded me of that Anne Hathaway movie Passengers [wikipedia.org].
I wonder if those bud guys who died in LA X like Keamy and Mikal where really there and went to hell instead of moving on, or where they just NPCs like the rest of the alt-world.
So, Hurley becomes Mr. Roarke, and Ben is Tattoo!! "Da Plane BOSS Da Plane" LOL. And they both live happily for an untold time running "Fantasy Island", before they die and meet everybody else that died during the series in the church at the end. Brilliant!!
Edit: Have decided I'm mad. That is all.

this (for me) was the best explanation for what happened- esp since the very end was the plane crash scene. Ben could not go into the church because he still had his penance to complete for all his wrong doings. or maybe...
this was some farked up story that just went on and on by dumbass writers and there is really no meaning

I get the show being Jack's story and I can see himmnot getting all the answers - so we dont get all the answers but I still feel the island was another character of the show and it did not get it's ... moment in the church.
I still pissed about Aaron, Eko,AND why, say Boone or Shannon was so important to Jack's life and others were not.
I hope I'm not pissed forever but for right now I am - maybe even more so than I was at The Sopranos. At least I didn't break anything with this show ending.
