Not an excuse--but those were grown in containers out front of my house, and I've never grown this variety before. So maybe there's something I should've done, or done differently, or I don't know what. I thought they were hot, and I still think they're hot. I've got plenty more if anybody else wants to try some--about a dozen nearly ready to harvest and twice that many ripening right now. So PM me if you want them, I'll ship 'em out on my own dime.
Sorry they made you lose the bet, Mr. SD, Schooby, whoever else. It was a good show regardless. Next time maybe try without all the milk.
So i was looking into the whole situation while it is obvious that the heat will vary from pepper to pepper, the enviroment in which they are grown plays a tremendous deal into the heat in the peppers. Apparently in an arid enviroment, the heat level of the pepper has been recorded as being "AS MUCH AS 50% LESS" then in its native enviroment...
not saying its your fault, but i do think that may explain the discrepancy in the peppers ferocity....
btw, catching up by reading several pages of "me", "t-shirt", "Vegas", "applesauce" and post-whoring was rather less than entertaining. I need a life.
