when your work gets food...how much is ok to take?

3,747 August 5, 2010 at 08:40 AM in Question
our work just ordered pizza for a select group of employees. of course once word spreads everyone and their brother flocks for the pizza. some dude took 6 slices while others were only taking 2 or 3.

how much is too much before people start to think you're an a$$hole for eating all the pizza while the employees in the back of the line starve?

and should a fatty be allowed to take more food than skinny people because their fat bodies require more?

I keep a few gallon-size ziploc bags handy at work just in case a bunch of pizza shows up. Then I grab as much as I can and start filling up the bags until I notice anybody watching. Then I grab two more slices to eat and make myself comfortable.

I call bullshit on this. There is no way that you would get uncomfortable stealing pizza because someone is watching you. You'd only stop when the ziplock bags, your pockets, etc. are filled to the brim with pizza.

Taking 6 slices isn't that bad as long as you're only taking a couple at a time and give others a chance. But to just walk up and grab 6 slices is pretty bad.

we have a small office (about 15-20 ppl work normal business hours) but we have shift guys that come in every night. so whenever the office gets food, we always save stuff for the night guys. there is a woman here who always eats her share at lunch, then mid-afternoon always goes in and gets "leftovers" to take to her daughters and husband. every single time. she keeps tupperware in her desk for this very reason. it pisses me off every time!

laugh out loud I worked at one place where they ordered pizza.. most people were polite and only took 1-2 pieces. After everyone went through the line once, there was about 2 pizzas left (scattered in a few boxes).. One foreign dude consolidated it all into two boxes, grabbed the two boxes and said "Great, this can be my family's dinner tonight". laugh out loud
Everyone was literally taking their first or second bite laugh out loud
