I redid our bathroom myself. Took me 4 months (some nights and some weekends, I wasn't in a hurry). It's really not that bad, if you can spend a few full days on it, you should be done fairly quickly.

Going to take down the ceiling? Redo any lighting/electrical work? Maybe install a ceiling fan?

I have all day, so should be quick...hopefully...we are definitely going to be putting a vent in the ceiling, they didn't have one..Facepalm

You should be done really quickly then (and yes I meant ceiling vent laugh out loud). Living in a condo, I couldn't work past 10pm, and I'd only get home by 6-7pm have dinner so I'd only have like an hour each night to hammer off tiles and pull off drywall.

Im just going to go with the fiberglass stuff, after we put up some backerboard and greenboard of course..lol

it just sucks having to demo all this, but would cost a fortune if I didn't do it..Mad

Well luckily the tiles are falling right out, the grout is so dry....but the walls are coming off just as easily, so that's both good and bad....walls shouldn't "fall" off Nono2
And fiance works all day till like 8:00 most nights, and I have no one to help..so double sucks..laugh out loud

Will you be able to check under the tub for mold? If that wall has been wet for a while there could be mold could be under the tub too.

I bet that's one of those big heavy cast iron tubs from the 30's or 40's. I would keep that sucker and have it re-enameled in a different color.
