I do a mix of the two. I never measure so I'm not sure how much I put in the topping, probably equal amounts or a little less flour than oats. I pretty much just wing it till it has the right texture.

I really should start measuring and writing these things down laugh out loud
yeah, i eyeball most of my stuff too. laugh out loud

stuffed bell peppers Big Grin

the stuffing is ground beef, onions, peppers, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes and green chilies, garlic, parsley, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. topped with shredded parmesan.
yummy

Made a small apple crisp tonight per DH's request.

First picture are the apples in their cinnamon, butter, brown sugar goodness. I leave the skin on my apples (more nutrients supposedly, plus DH likes it like that) No harm as long as they are very thoroughly washed nod

Second picture is the finished product after DH dipped into it Coverlaugh

I've never actually looked at an apple crisp recipe and I might use more oats than most would, but it tastes damn good drool
OMG! That looks GREAT! :salivatesmoar!!!:

those look like mine. laugh out loud wonder if we used the same recipe? Big Grin
LMAO you're right, they do look the same! but i didn't put cheese throughout, i just topped the peppers at the end. but the cheese was a good addition, so next time i'm going to mix cheese into the stuffing.

here's the recipe [foodnetwork.com] i used. i made this with all 93/7 ground beef, and i subbed brown rice for white rice, and i used a can of Rotel in addition to the tomato sauce to give it more kick. also, i doubled the meat (DH is a big meat eater) so i ended up with lots of the stuffing leftover - it is my lunch today. nod

i put some chopped green peppers in the stuffing, and DH said that was a wee bit overkill, given the fact that the stuffing was actually served in a giant green pepper laugh out loud next time, i think i'll use chopped celery instead.

Your peppers looked fantastic, and using Rotel is what I'd do, as well. Where are you in NC? I'll come over from Charlotte and help you get rid of any leftovers, because it looks and sounds AWESOME!! drool drool drool

I've been known to drive to the east side of Raleigh to try someone's barbecue, so it's not entirely out of the question! Besides, they DID look that good. Big Grin

yeah, that looks really similar (maybe even the same Dontknow) as the recipe i used. i think i used wild or long-grain rice, instead of white or brown. didn't use cheese. Big Grin

dinner tonight for me was honey-sesame glazed chicken strips, rice, and slaw. i used a typical dredge: flour-egg-panko and threw a bit of cayenne in with the panko. i baked the chicken at 450ยบ until it got nice and crispy, then brushed on a mix of honey, soy, and sesame seeds.

turned out to be a perfect mix of sweet and spicy. Big Grin
