Check out the clearance sporting goods at T. There is a small stepper that is at 50% ($35ish) right now. I got one a couple of years ago and would do it while I watched TV. It works great and is small!!
Thanks I actually mentioned spotting this yesterday but my post was long so don't think anyone saw, 50 percent off isn't bad but 75 would be better since I need a scale too, does anyone remember when exercise stuff is marked down? I don't feel like popping in deals to check maybe I will later.

Terri glad to hear ds is home now you both can get some much needed r&r

Slowtech, thanks for all the tea recommendations, I do like green tea, preferably iced since its still so hot, maybe if its too strong/bitter I can use some honey, I totally forgot its a natural sweetner. As for milk I rarely drink it I'm not huge on dairy. And if I do drink its usually whole with oreos. But can't have those anymore Frown

So I still can't locate tcc dieters from my cell and how can I participate if I can't get there? Does anyone know how to get to it without a link, so I can try when mobile, pm me please

I need Help

So far today I've had one cup of coffee w/creamer and I have a banana just haven't got around to eating it. Been super busy this morning.

Is this bakery bread? I don't work at a ST, but regular bread comes in fresh. The only item we (reg. T) gets frozen are sugar cookies with icing.

Ok, who was the pop addict? Can you switch to diet? Yeah, I know it's not that good for you either, but at least it isn't adding 10,000 calories a day. I never ever thought I could switch to diet. Then I tried a Diet Coke with Lime and it was pretty good. Now that's my drink of choice. Lot of the time I add my own lime. A&W Root Beer and Cream Soda are both excellent. I know a lot of non diet drinkers can't tell the difference with those two.
Interesting note for the soda drinkers, my Dr told me that recent studies have shown that it's beneficial for women to have a moderate caffeine intake (2 cups of coffee, a few sodas per day) It helps stave off things like Alzheimers. I'm a diet soda drinker. I usually only have 2 per day, before 4pm, but if I had a soda fountain, I could easily drink them and not need to eat! I heart fountain drinks!

Thursdays, same as Toys. Usually in the afternoon.

I was looking thru "Red" magazine today while on break. The coupon on the back (there's a new one every month, last month was save $50 on entertainment installation, which still made it $50 or more for them to plug my tv into the wall) sucks this month. But, I found some TQs inside that Rock

There is an $10 Rx TQ, but it doesn't expire till 12/1/10!!
$.50 16.9oz Archer Farms tea item exp 9/30/10
$5/1 Dr. Scholl's footcare item exp 9/30/10

best thing, is the small print: "Target accepts one manufacturer and one Target coupon per item. Void if copied, scanned, transferred, purchased, sold or prohibitited by law. Item(s) may not be available at all stores. No cash value."
No mention at all about "one per transaction"!

But then again, after looking at the CATs, I see they say the same thing.

There was only 2 left Frown But, if you have a jedi who you have gotten to know well, or a friend that works at T, you may want to see if they can snag you a few out of the breakroom. There's a little book insert in the middle, they are on the last page of that. It's about the same size as the Glade booklet that was in the last All You.

awww Ank, sorry. Frown Is she gassy?
Yeah - she gets pretty gassy. I burp her after eating, but she still seems to have issues. I'm wondering if it's not something I"m eating - so I guess I need to keep a food diary for a while to see. Otherwise, maybe it's just the fact that she's a newborn and her system is adjusting. *shrug* She also gets bad hiccups sometimes.

Her congestion is a LOT better today - yay! We went to the hospital for her ultrasounds and it will be 24-48 hrs before we get results.

That part will be easy for me. I don't really like candy stuff, and I'm not big on cake.
Pasta and potatoes are so-so for me - I can do with 'em or without 'em. But cake - and especially icing... MMMMMMM.

And congrats on the weight loss!

WHAT??? EEK!

dieting...

I dont' think I can do no carb - not yet anyways. I'm still getting awful hungry with the BFing, so I think I kind of need the filler. But, I can cut back and also make sure I'm getting better carbs.

I love veggies and fruits and all manner of healthy stuff, so that will be easy. I think what will make it even easier is if I go shopping, bring stuff home, and prep it. If veggies are cut up and sitting there, I will be more likely to eat them.

I am also going to get back to some freezer cooking and such. That is one of those things that takes some prep and planning at first, but is so much easier than if I try to stand there at the last minute going "hmmm... what should i make for dinner now??"

Once upon a time, I had gained a ton of weight and went up to a size 18/20 - freaked out and changed what I was doing. One of the biggest things I did was start eating soups for lunch. I think the increase in liquids plus lots of veggies and lower portions of fattier things (like the meats, etc...) made a huge difference for me. I also took a dance class - hard core modern dance - and that got my metabolism jump started. I've always loved dance, but hadn't done it in years. Oh, another benefit - I was VERY (*very* Evil ) flexible again...

Another thing that works for me is eating often, but eating smaller portions.

Grr... gotta run for a few... bbl!

I finally got around to buying my first round of SpaghettiO's @ T. this AM....and quite honestly I will definitely be using some of those for quick meals....for what I am doing (counting WW points) they are not bad at all. Low in fat, a few grams of fiber per serving, 6g protein per serving, and full serving of veggies (hidden, just the way I like 'emEvil) A bit much on the sodium like most canned things but OK for a quick, cheap meal once in awhile! I am sooooo not a meat-eater, which is good and bad. I just don't like the taste of it all that much, and when I do eat it I don't eat much of it - that's the good part.

Yay Teri, that is great news!! Ank, hope you guys get good results and the hours pass quickly Pray hug

This is me too! I have been trying REALLY hard not to do this and so far so good but I still feel like I should be snacking later at night and I wake up soooo hungry in the morning. My body is just so used to it.

I am not even going to attempt extra exercising until I get the eating thing down...one thing at a time. I have a wii fit, now I wish I had a space that was truly big enough to use it. We also have My Fitness Coach and the Biggest Loser game for Wii - both of which are good. I am contemplating mall walking. I am thinking my dd would tolerate being in the stroller, we could get out of the house for a bit, and we could do it even in the winter. We don't have the best conditions outside for walking....lots of traffic, poorly maintained sidewalks, lots of intersection construction projects that have closed the sidewalks at that, etc. and just generally not the best area. Also contemplating that 30 day shred video but I am wondering if it would just be too much for me.
Do any of the area schools have an outdoor track? That's where I exercise. As soon as I drop my son off at school, I bring my two other little ones there and we walk. Baby in the stroller, toddler skipping beside me. It doesn't get my heartrate going super fast, but at least I'm moving, and we're getting our dose of vitamin D. Big Grin

Yes, I do. This is one concession I am not willing to make. I started drinking Half & Half in my coffee years ago otherwise it would tear up my stomach. I have acid reflux disease and take Nexium now so I probably wouldn't have to but I like it that way. So, I figure this isn't something I'm changing so if I have to cut something else back a little more, so be it. Here's the kind of weird glitch -- I'm doing low carb, heavy cream is lower in carbs than Half & Half so I will buy some of that to get started -- plus since it's heavy cream, I can use a little less.

During the fast I will also use Splenda in tea if I want to. Once I go onto Atkins Induction, I don't know. It actually has one carb in a tsp (I think). You can order liquid online but it's ????. I think I will just start drinking tea without sweetener.
Hmmm, that's very intriguing. How many days do you do the liquid fast? I'm thinking of trying it, maybe even this week, before the crazy fall schedule starts and I need all the energy I can get.

I always drink my tea with honey, I think they really complement each other nicely. And honey has many healthful attributes, so as long as its in moderation, it definitely has a place in every diet.

expanded grocery french bread demi loaves. i'll probably buy a few more but i think i'm over getting cheap bread and will buy whole wheat or preferably multi-grain now to help lose weight. more fiber is supposed to make you feel full longer.

i prefer pasta over rice. i can do w/out cake and just do social occasions. icing has to be really special cuz it's usually too sweet...except for whipped cream frosting on strawberry shortcake. that i have to eat.

dieting...

I dont' think I can do no carb - not yet anyways. I'm still getting awful hungry with the BFing, so I think I kind of need the filler. But, I can cut back and also make sure I'm getting better carbs.

no way on the no carbs either. occasionally is ok but i have to have carbs when it's cold out. else i feel cold.

I love veggies and fruits and all manner of healthy stuff, so that will be easy. I think what will make it even easier is if I go shopping, bring stuff home, and prep it. If veggies are cut up and sitting there, I will be more likely to eat them.

i think this is key. sometimes i think food comes too easy in the US. i watch all those obese tv shows where people eat off trays in hospitals or go to the cafeteria but i don't think they are learning to prepare food for themselves when they go back to the real world. if they don't know how to cook or change the way they cook, they are going to end up right back where they started b/c they don't cook healthy, order out, fast food, frozen food, etc. i also think you learn to prepare the correct portion sizes for yourself. and those prepared foods never have enough fruits and veggies in them. usually miniscule amts. i bought weight watcher entrees to try during a supermarket deal and those things don't have much veggies at all.

I am also going to get back to some freezer cooking and such. That is one of those things that takes some prep and planning at first, but is so much easier than if I try to stand there at the last minute going "hmmm... what should i make for dinner now??"

bff does this all the time and then ends up eating frozen like bertolli. and one bag for 2 people is not enough so she eats way more calories and sodium than she should.

Once upon a time, I had gained a ton of weight and went up to a size 18/20 - freaked out and changed what I was doing. One of the biggest things I did was start eating soups for lunch. during the winter w/ have noodle soup for dinner at least once/wk. more like rachel ray's stoups. cross between soup and stew. lot less fat and very filling. but have to be careful of the sodium in canned and tetrapack stock and broth. pacific makes one w/ only 70 mg per cup. usually one dinner serving comes out to 2 cups or 140mg.

i like doing the eat more often in smaller portions. if i'm not starving, i won't stuff my face.

ok, no more computer. time to be productive!

Is there a sale going on with spags? I suppose I could eat those for lunch. I am not a breakfast or lunch person, but I just saw a commercial that said if you only eat once a day you gain weight..do you guys think that's true? Is that where my weight could be coming from. I am not an over eater. I do not eat more then 1000 calories a day if that much.

I've always used it in hot tea but never in iced tea, so I guess I will try and see what happens.

You're right- bread comes in fresh. Bakery dept doesn't get but maybe 1/2 a palette of stuff per truck.
