Landers may need a new car

I really didn't want to purchase a new vehicle, but the fact that my car may cost me about 1/2 or more than the value of it to repair and I own it outright, I may end up j ust buying a new one.

I'm looking used, but not opposed to new if the price is only a little bit more than what it would cost for used.

I'm looking to try to stay in 7-10k range, but could go a little more if the car was newer and the cost was only a couple thousand more and I could keep my monthly payments reasonable.

I'm looking at maybe Mazda 3 or similar. I'd like a Sedan, but am open to a small SUV. I don't want a coupe since i carry my hockey gear with me a lot and transporting that in a smaller coupe is inconvenient.

Any suggestions on vehicles to look at?

Won't a hockey bat fit in just about any hatchback or sedan with fold-down seats?

Yeah, but it's inconvenient to try and stuff it in there. Plus, remember i have hockey sticks. I carry at least 2 on game days, sometimes 4 if I'm going to a tournament. 5' long sticks don't fit as easily into a small hatchback.

acura tsx/rsx? is series lexux? 3 series bmw?

Yeah, I heard feminine car when I bought it. Don't give a shit what other people think. I liked the car and it was fine while I've had it.
Too expensive, especially to insure and repair when needed. Again, price range 7-10k.

Meh. I don't need anything more than a small sedan or a small SUV. And I don't need all wheel drive. Something similar to a Mazda 3 sedan would really be perfect.

I would up with a Kia Soul as a rental car in the spring, it was at least as well built as my corolla, and pretty spacious, easy to get in and out of.

I don't have the proper words to express my disdain for the boxy cars like the Soul, Scions, and Honda Element. laugh out loud
