I guess you're right. The school administrators should have done more to control the bullies. Personally I think they should have been suspended, every single one. Do we really need laws and lawsuits to accomplish that? Shouldn't schools be capable of disciplining their students by themselves? It doesn't take an act of Congress to know that a student harassing another student should be disciplined and their parents notified and asked to take appropriate action?

Sure, I think the schools should get involved too. That is, immediate suspension and possible expulsion for repeat cases. I wouldn't play around with this crap. But, I also think that charges should be brought against the offending kid if it was egregious.

I guess it just makes me angry that parents are so tuned out of their children's lives that such actions are even necessary. Why are so many children growing up to be morally suspect these days?

Well, those things certainly make taking and distributing the pictures a bit more difficult, so while I'm sure it would still happen, it wouldn't be as prevalent as it is with a cell phone camera. I wouldn't care to give a teenager a webcam without proper supervision, either.

Ehh, I just think webcams and cell phones make it really easy to do things without thinking them through. Using a camera, uploading a picture, sending it, etc takes a lot of time for the kid to think things through. IDK. That's just my opinion.

Again, all it would take is for the PARENTS of the bullies and the schools where they go to stand up to these punks and stop the bully-friendly environment that thrives in our schools. We are in a super good school and one of my dear friends told me that days after she signed up to help on a committee to promote our school's "No Place for Hate" status that she found our her own kid is being bullied. It's everywhere, and it takes parents who are tuned in to their kids to stop it.
