AMC's The Walking Dead [Spoilers!]

Did you watch?

For a show on a non premium cable channel, I thought it was very good. I never read the comic, so I don't know how it compares, but I'll be watching every Sunday. pisses me off that I don't get AMC in HD though.

Yes, thank you I was meaning what you rephrased so it would be a controlled forum with the host keeping the discussion flow going in case the guests may be more inclined to respond than initiate any questions of interest in their mind.

Yeah, I'm almost positive that I've seen banter between the guests and the execs, ranging from questions, or what does that mean, that kind of stuff. I am pretty sure they all see the episode ahead of time to have a show prepared and don't just quip around until they have to stop, though. Dontknow

The theory involves the flowers (that Tyreese had picked for Karen, that Carol put in Lizzie's hair, etc..) and how they might be the source of the virus. The caller stated that the flowers can be seen in the opening credits, but I haven't gone back to look, and also appeared either in the pig pen or in the slop trough.

If the showrunners choose to include them in the credit visuals, they may have some significance ? Confused We shall see.

thanks for the interesting theory. I think there was a post early on from someone who followed the comic books and said the source was never addressed [in the comic books]. I am not sure the AMC version is even following the comic book story line anymore??

The bloody-eyes virus itself, let alone the "source", was never in the comics. AMC, judging by casting over the off-season, is going to be following the comic to a point, and I'm excited for what may come later in the season.

At the moment, there are bits and pieces that nod to the comics, but we're not in Kansas anymore. Having read all the comics, it's actually nice knowing that I should be ready for anything and not expect everything to go verbatim! Hope that helps without being too spoiler-y.

Anyone have any theories on whether or not Carol actually did it, or if she was covering up for someone, and what might happen to her when Tyreese finds out?

on tv they say the virus is just a common virus that is killing people as normal viruses do through a compromised immune system and thus allowing the zombie virus to come into play...

I never thought Carol did it; but TigerStar said it was confirmed on the talking dead. I still think it is a twist in the story line.

A friend of mine and I are having a heated debate about whether there is a source of the virus or simply close quarters and poor hygiene. I think there is a source; she is adamant about it just being chance.

Also, I think Carol is covering for Lizzie. I don't know how, but I don't think Carol is a murderer. It is completely out of character for her. Lizzie, however, knows that Karen and David were at the fence killing walkers, and one of them put down "Nick," her "friend." She takes Carol's knife, and who knows what really happened.

Furthermore, Lizzie has a different shirt on before and after the burnings take place. Carol does not.

Food for thought.

Unless you mean by not washing their hands clean with soap or bleach after touching or from blood contact of walkers, I'd rule out poor hygiene since it's been shown they have access and do shower and brush their teeth. It could be a mutated strain from all the blood splatter that's bound to go into their eyes since they don't wear goggle while killing walkers up close.
