Not a downer at all. Just one of those moments that are very sad AND I realize that I am VERY blessed! I easily get emotional - especially when I haven't slept enough!

Is it just me or is this site messed up for everybody? Everything else is working fine for me.

Edit: Huh, its back to normal now. For a while it wasn't loading and it said it was waiting for i.slickdeals.net.

Oh, guess what? I got my glasses fixed at least temporarily. Let's hope they hold until I get some new ones. Gotta love super glue! They are a little crooked but the Rx isn't lining up too badly -- I wear progressive bifocals.

When I first tried to log on this morning, I got the page can't be displayed screen multiple times, even though my other sites loaded fine. I tried again about 10 minutes later and everything was fine.

I had a new DSL line activated a few months back (I have multiple lines already for work, but needed 1 more) and when it wasn't working, I called them and they insisted it was my modem. I said, no, it can't be the modem- it works with all my other lines if I switch them out, so it must be a problem on your end. They said no, and they would not send a tech out until I agreed to purchase a $100 modem from them. Hell to the no. Finally got my way up to talk to a higher up (manger of CS or something) and he STILL insisted it was my modem and his hands "were tied" unless I bought a new modem.

So I submitted an FTC complaint and who was knocking at my door less than 8 hours later? An AT&T tech that they insisted they couldn't send out. And, oh yeah, my modem was just fine, they screwed up my DSl lines Big Grin

I hate complaining, but if I know I'm not wrong, I don't care.

We did have fun. We went to the American Girl store in Atlanta to reminisce (my grandmother gave me these dolls when I was younger and I still love them and it's one of the few things my mom and I have bonded with). Got my free stuff at Aveda, my mom got her birthday present at Sephora and I got some foundation samples of MakeUp Forever @ Sephora ($40 for foundation? Uhm, yeah, give me some samples please!), free piece of Godiva (good thing Godiva is so expensive- pumpkin truffle was to die for!).

Also dragged my mom to Kohls, where she used one of my $5 Qs and some of my merch credit from a return to buy a purse- she's STILL talking about what a great deal it was (ended up being free). And then we went to Target and I got my rugs and ended up finally finding the 7th Gen hand wash, which my T doesn't sell. I heart the Buckhead T, K1'ed like a champ and no supervisor intervention needed (unlike at local T)

Managed to get an entire HOUR of exercise in this AM on the Wii Fit between jogging, step aerobics, boxing, etc. It said I burned like 310 cals or something and I believe it. I dunno what got into me this AM! Found FiberOne bars $2/box on TPC through 10/30 at T. this morning....will have to scrounge up q's. Oh, and found peelies on PIllsbury brownie mixes for $1/2 baking mixes....good deal with Hy-Vee's sale this weekend.

Setsail - hug I am sorry about your daughter! I too think people don't know what to say, but I'm surprised your dh at least didn't say anything! I have a SIL who has dealt with infertility for a very long time. Not quite the same thing....but during my pregnancy with dd she would not have anything to do with me. It put a very large strain on our relationship and our family relationships. I just could not understand it. Only recently did we sit down and talk about it and iron things out, and I found out that most of our family never even acknowledges her struggles, which has got to be terrible. I had no idea that the people closest to her were doing this; now I've made it a point to not stay silent. I was putting way to much emphasis on *what* I should say when I really think what she cares about is that *someone is saying *something*. *sigh* I just feel soooo bad for her Frown

My dh fixed his with duct tape once. Oh the things that we'll do when we need to be frugal. Now that I know about that other site though I won't worry nearly as much.

He seems to be feeling a little better this afternoon. He actually ate a little lunch and he's been pretty cool. He's napping now so we'll see how he is when he wakes up. Oh yes, I will Big Grin I like to keep some on hand for a quick thing to take to church potlucks, etc. And for the record, if you make them with unsweetened applesauce they are much lower-calorie than with the oil. And with WW pts. I can indulge every now and again anyway if I count them. Not that we ever really bake brownies just for us to eat anyway. With the applesauce they are actually one of the better indulgences.

Ours was definitely a frugal move LMAO DH really did need new ones bad but we just had to wait until we had the money. He too was due for an appt. so it wasn't too bad of timing. DD was the one who broke them. Every time the two of them starting chasing each other around the house/acting crazy something gets broken or someone gets hurt Annoyed
