I absolutely agree. I know how empty and quiet my life would be without kids. They do keep us hopping but wouldn't trade them for the world. Though some quiet time during the day would be lovely sometimes.
Relax is something I am not used to... I attempt to take a bath instead of a shower and either my 3 year old joins me or my cat jumps in the water lol I have found that my priorities are wayyyyyyyyyy different than my rl friends as they are concerned about league volleyball, drinking and going to clubs... I used to play volleyball all the time when I was 16...but now not so much...lol I am kinda prudish in behavior since kids so I am not a hot drinking mess lol
WTG Tina!! I REFUSE to pay for diapers, it would make me ill LMAO I have 4, yes 4 in diapers... sooooooooo I cannot imagine paying for all those diapers..

My kids all still believe in Santa and don't believe they are spoiled at all.. my two older dd's still have not worn the same shirt to school yet since the year started and am still taking tags off shirts everyday...and they complain they don't have any clothes... lol spoiled... my inlaws told me they want a 50" plasma... me no thinks so...lol I am going to see what JcP has cheap as I bought the 10 off 10 coupons and have to use them by Monday LOL

I agree on the advice thing too, we all need to get together for a girls only vacation and pamper ourselves.
for one thing, it will speed up the positive results of your diet(s).
there are numerous studies out now that show the enormous impacts of a lack of a sleep. ONLY GETTING 5-6 hours of sleep vs the required and recommended 7 to 8 hours of sleep EVERY NIGHT regularly results in
1. being overweight and gaining weight
2. having a much higher risk of getting diabetes
3. having much greater risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke
4. weakened immune system
5. smaller life span
6. hormonal imbalance, including thyroid and reproductive issues
7. greater risk of certain cancers
and trying to make it up on weekends does not count. it has to be every night, because that's when the body repairs, rebuilds itself and replenishes its hormonal stock. just a 2-3 hour shortage per night can put you in line for so many health issues!
and if you are lifelong insomniacs you should get to a sleep physician and figure out the reason. ok, so i know this sounds like the pot calling the kettle black, but I did get medical attention. But I was born with insomnia (yep, my poor parents!) and so the way my body handles the effects is entirely different. and there is no remedy for my kind of insomnia. but there are remedial interventions for most people.

Yeah, I really should get to bed, it is just so much harder to sleep when DH is gone.
I can sheepishly admit that it's kind of like meeshe's house here, but it's so much better than it used to be. I used to find that I was ebaying hundreds of nwt items every year so (and this has been really hard!) I've cut back on the clothing I buy. It does help that the older kids can't wear cute matchy Gymboree any longer. That was half the fun of shopping.

I joined some homeschooling groups irl but even those I found to be cliquish and I am usually kind of shy in person and that does tend to get one invited into the clique. The only time I feel bad about it is that I see my kids reacting to people in the same way, they tend to be more reserved unless they know someone, and I don't want them to grow up feeling like an outsider.

I know you hate where you live now, but ya know, I remember Henderson how is was 30 yrs ago when I spent whole summers at my grandma's and I loved it all. I know it is nothing like it was then but I still have family and friends there and I just love visiting there. Have considered moving there too. Now don't get me wrong, there are parts that I DO NOT like, especially how Vegas has become such a party town, not that it ever wasn't. But it did used to seem like Vegas was far far away from Henderson. Oh wait, it WAS. lol, not so much anymore, man that place has exploded since my granny lived there.

And good golly, when the girls were little, they had matching or coordinating outfits every day until they were in elementary school, and even then they coordinated a lot (thanks Hanna Andersson! lol) I had 12 of the 25 gallons Rubbermaid totes full of girl clothing when we found out #3 was a boy. That went for a nice chunk on eBay (circa 2002). After buying ds clothing, then selling it as he outgrew it, and buying stuff all over again for #4, I learned a few things.
1. never get rid of the trains. someone will want them.
2. when your heart says don't sell that adorable outfit, don't.
3. same goes for those really htf Thomas the tank engine light up shoes that would now be the perfect size for monkey toddler
4. and the Little Tikes train toddler bed *sigh*
I do still have a tendency to go overboard buying clothing for the little monkey, and shoes, and coats...but it's not nearly half what I used to buy. I would buy outfits from each new line at Gymboree, and still buy stuff at Gap, Target, and other clothing retailers. Now it's cut way back and he still has a lot of stuff. I stopped getting rid of older ds' clothing when we knew monkey was a boy. Once he reaches size 6 and 7, we're set. Since he's still on the 3/4 border, it's going to be a while. Happy Shopping.
