Glad it worked for you. From seeing pics posted here, you are quite attractive, even while pregnant.

I work for a veterinarian, and it's VERY hard passing up the stray cats that come in. One of my co-workers and I have decided that we're basically just waiting for our hubbies to die so we can be crazy cat ladies!

Aw, thank you... I've never thought so, but I guess most women don't.

And I *highly* doubt you are unattractive! Even if you aren't super model material, there are good guys out there who *do* believe that true beauty (the kind that you obviously have) is what is important too. I hear the same complaint from a lot of guys - they are looking for "good Christian women" - so ya'll just need to find each other!

2 things:

Holy-wait-too-long-to-make-up-my-mind Batman!!! Sheesh! I *was* going to order some TGIF q's from my fav clipper, but they are now down to 7!!!! They had over 300!!!! EEK! That's some serious freezer meals. Frown All I did was walk away to ask DH his opinion on how many q's I could/should order!

I also just found a picture of my grandmother Mavis!! It's really tiny though - like 3x3 ish. Is there a good place that can enlarge it?

I've known several happy marriages that resulted from eharmony.

I have yet to hate any of the TGIF meals I've had. I have tried the chicken with black beans and rice, steak fajitas, Thai peanut style chicken, and the chicken and shrimp with pasta. All have been yummy. A little spicier than I generally cook, but not too bad. And for free, I'll take it!!!

just wanted to say hi to everybody! been a long wk and been having trouble keeping up.

hug to those who need one. i do think of all of you though i may not say it. i'd have to sit in front of this computer all day long which i do too much of anyway. i am guilty of staying up very late almost every nite, just to catch up. meanwhile dustbunnies are rampant, mounds of paper are taking over all the flat surfaces and plastic bags of stuff are taking over the front door area.

funny bit- b/c last nite i had sd up on the screen when dh came in the office, he said it's like a job:lmao :! but when i came home from target 2 hrs b4 w/ some more free socks and eggs and cheap bodywash, he was happy about the free stuff but whined how come he didn't get free socks. yeah, it is a job, free is not really free, you have to work at getting it free.

Quote from mamaoftwins2 :
Slowtech and GT, I had a caramel frappe and french fries for lunch today..Go ahead and :smack : me...But I will get back on the diet from Monday....I am too tired to diet at the moment..
should i be wishing you a happy diwali!? i just got sucked into another yahoo group for my development and just deleted a bunch of emails.

i'm not going to be :bash : anybody around here about dieting right now. after the last hectic wk, i'm right back where i started Mad. so now i know better what i need to be doing and need to go post it in last wks discussion thread.

Quote from ank220 :
I'd be tempted to organize a field trip just for the fun of it. I'd organize like 30 people or as many as possible. I'd give everyone a stack of coupons and have 'em all check out at the same time. Yeah, that would be fun to watch. I, naturally, would check out last so I could watch it all go down. laugh out loud
i'd be so up for that. target has been po'ing me lately so i just want to screw w/ them.

Quote from myluvjustice :
Its ok I took no offense at all, I was just saying I understand what you were saying because I feel like I didnt get to discover myself first before becoming a mom, I still feel lost sometimes Im great at feeding people and cleaning up etc, but as far a emotionally I have issues dealing with feelings etc, I never learned how to deal with that type of stuff ,primarily because my mom was always sick as long as I can remember and I was thrown into the role of mother at a very young age way before having children.

I guess we just have to play the hand were delt :hug :
:hug :. you can always come here. sometimes you just need to vent. maybe ask for some unbiased advice. it's not good to keep feelings bottled up inside. been watching a lot of tv shows lately where people deal w/ emotions by cutting, eating disorders, and other destructive behaviors. and talking to people who are not in the midst of it can be a very good thing. they can give a different perspective.

we are all here b/c we connect on some level. besides shopping at target :lol :.

Quote from meeshecat :
Lately my new bedtime seems to be around 5amish then back up at 7am, not sure why for the last 2 weeks can't sleep for the life of me lol
you are not going to like this, but imho you should stay away from coffee and caffeine for awhile and see what happens. i had a roommate in college who would wake me up almost every nite around 2:30-3am coming home from the library and be up around 6-7am to get ready for 8am class. we stayed friends after college and i would stay over sometimes. one day i asked her how come now you go to sleep around 12-12:30 and get up 8-9am? she said she used to drink 5-6 cups of coffee at the library at nite. once she stopped drinking so much coffee she wasn't so wired anymore.

you may experience caffeine withdrawal. i've had that b4. bad headache and jitters for days.

Quote from getgreen09 :
so, you have to cut the cycle. get a bottle of melatonin from the drugstore. a few of my friends swear by it. it's a natural sleep chemical released by the body to bring about sleep. so taking the bottled one aids in falling off to sleep faster. they say there's no exhausted hang over like sleeping pills. no restlessness. it's just a relaxing gently slide into sleepiness. i've never tried it because it's contraindicated for migraine sufferers, but those who take it love it.
my oldest SIL travels a lot for work and uses melatonin for jetlag. she says it really works.

Quote from myluvjustice :
well for all those ansomniacs its still early here Wink I myself dont want to go to sleep because I try to get as much out of my day as possible especially on the weekend.
me too. that and trying to keep up w/ all you chatty people and the deals thread!

Quote from kallison423 :
I should be listing furniture on Craigslist, but no one will buy it anyways. People aren't looking for pricier antiques right now, especially out here.
do you have a furniture consignment store anywhere around? there is one near here and i see the nicer pieces there and not even antiques, mostly antique-like. i think much of it goes for a decent price. they lower the price after a certain amt of days. the nice stuff always goes b4 the price goes down.

you should look in the phone book (yeah the actual big book) and see if you can find one in an upscale neighborhood. those places usually have been around for a long time and haven't needed to move to the internet.

We have Kohl's here but I never make it to that end of the parking lot. Embarrassment The times I have shopped there, I found some great stuff for monkey, some Lego and Star Wars shirt for my 8 yr old. The girls got pjs there last year.
that's been me the last couple yrs. i know kohs has good stuff, but ever since that target got expanded grocery, been spending more time in there.

Quote from myluvjustice :
Wish I could say my experiences had made me a better person but I thinks it scard me, I once was very happy and a very sweet person. For the past few years I have become very angry, and or sad, its funny cause happy has been hard for me lately. I have always been overly stressed, and it seems like it has just been intensifying lately.

I know I probably shouldn't have said so much, because who knows what people are thinking at this point. But I have no one to talk to so, this is a release for me that is much needed

Quote from tn_native :
Loneliness is the worse part of not having a SO, or good friends (or a Dad to use as a sounding board). I go entire 3 day weekends without talking to anyone. I always told my Dad that being well paid was great, but not having someone to share your life with was awful. I'd give up my $$ and well paying job for an honest, loving, dependable Christian man in a heartbeat. Doesn't matter what they look like. Looks can be gone in an instant. It's whats inside that counts.
Frown. do you go to church? would you volunteer? join a club? take a class?

my mom is not the easiest person to get along w/ and she can't tolerate many people. she barely speaks to her own siblings. my brothers won't answer her phone calls. my dad just shuts up b/c my mom will just rant and rave until you can't take it anymore, so he doesn't say anything to keep the peace. she has always favored my brothers over me. she even favors my cousins over me sometimes even though at the same time she complains about them and doesn't think much of them. she lies to me Frown. she is exceedingly stubborn and critical of others. her house could be on hoarders. but she volunteers at the library and does tai chi in the morning at the local botanical garden. thru tai chi she's made friends, one of which had to go back to outer mongolia and my mom ended up visiting her a couple yrs ago. my mom has won awards for her volunteer work at the library.

my point is is that even very, very difficult people like my mom can make friends. you just have to get out there somehow. i met my bff/neighbor by holding a yard sale. i made another friend by just happening to stand on line for 5hrs w/ her at a warehouse sale and we started talking. she just happens to live nearby so we have lunch periodically and chat via email. i made another very good friend where i was working part time and we only spoke w/ each other and hit it off the last day she was working. thru her i have met other people. one couple lives a half hr away and if i made more effort, we could be friendlier but of course it takes time.

it does take some effort and of course you do have to put up w/ their idiosyncracies and things you don't agree w/, but sometimes a little drama can bring a little excitement to your life. that's why i like reading the drama in deals laugh out loud. it's fun! i have had to cut a few people out that ended up being like vampires. but that's life. to live it, you just have to take the good w/ the bad.

ok, will get off my soapbox now and go out and buy the paper.

had to disable some smilies to get this posted. boo!

When I lived alone and worked from home, I'd go weeks and weeks without ever speaking to another person (except saying hi to cashiers or something). Part of me enjoyed solitude, but you get to that desperation point where it's like, okay, can't do this anymore! At the beginning of when I was living alone, I was making very good money and would compensate by shopping. It helped, but 'stuff' can't show you love.

I tend to attract nutcases. Let's see, there was the pothead, the meth addict, the guy who was attracted to teens EEK!, the abuser...I can pick 'em, huh? I should learn that if I'm attracted to a guy, stay away. If I find him repulsive, he's probably sane and normal.

I used some maalox coupons but it was during the great CCV mess and did not notice.

Will use more on the larger size liquid just to see.

Anyone have a good deal on a Zojirushi Micom 3-Cup Rice Cooker? Needed for DD Christmas gift.

Also looking for a Stainless Steel Toaster Oven for other DD.

Oh, I actually meant to say how I found SD. When I was in Alaska, my brother was very big on couponing. Apparently that was before limits at CVS laugh out loud Of course, it was intriguing, but without a car in AK, I couldn't do much for myself. So when I got back to GA, he started teaching me some basics and pointed me to SD and basically said if I wanted to learn, this was the place to do it. I tried out some other sites/forums, but SD appealed to me more Smilie

I wish I could get my mom to start couponing. She's always been a thrifty shopper, but I can never get her to use more than a few coupons at a time and I don't think she has the patience sometimes to wait for sales. Or else she hates the idea of stockpiling- until she's out of something and I tell her I have it in a box in the garage already Big Grin

Since these don't get the gift card is there a reason you aren't using that coupon at WalMart? They have the big bottles for $5 and a smaller lotion and wash for under $4 and under $5. Just convenience since you are at T anyway?

Well, bring them on. We can go through my stuff item by item coupon by coupon and match them all up. Color code them for all I care. But don't expect me to rush and hurry and make a mess of my coupons and my crap. We will do this orderly and organized and if it takes an hour, then so be it. If I drive that far to shop I don't have anything else planned so I have all day.

I don't think you made anyone feel badly and you weren't judgmental. And, you were right. Slow down, enjoy some time just the two of you if you have the chance. Once you have the babies, they don't go away and then chance won't come again.
Quote from myluvjustice :
So I do wonder what I have missed out on, and I am disappointed in myself for not getting to college and getting a great career and a house before getting children etc. I feel like I have cheated them a bit.Frown
Ohhh, justice, just stop a minute. Tell me something, exactly how have you cheated them by not having a career? Did you cheat them by not being gone 40, 50, 60 hours a week? Did you cheat them by bring home work to do instead of spending that time with them? Seriously, exactly how would a college education make you a better mother? And how does your lack of a college degree cheat them? A degree doesn't make you smarter or more loving. It teaches you stuff you need for a job -- isn't that the point of college? Not exactly stuff a baby/toddler/kid needs.

Back off women -- I'm not saying you shouldn't go to college. I'm not saying career/working women are bad mothers. If you want to go to college, go. If you want (or must) work, then work. But those of you who don't -- stop feeling like less a person.

I think I need to know about these. My husband doesn't sleep well at all and his description is similar to your child's -- the brain just won't slow down. He is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week most weeks so he cannot take anything that will make him drowsy or knock him out -- not even Diphenhydramine (Benadry).
Quote from setsail :
I joined some homeschooling groups irl but even those I found to be cliquish and I am usually kind of shy in person and that does tend to get one
That is exactly why I always hesitated to suggest to other hsers that they look for a group. I think it's also kind of common to find a whole a lot of competitiveness.

A friend and I started a group in a rural area and it was great. No snottiness, no competitive attitude. We rarely really discussed that kind of stuff. We did amazing field trips and had holiday parties. If someone got new stuff (books, manipulative, etc.) they had to bring it for show and tell.laugh out loud After I moved they continued and added an annual talent show and Christmas program. These things were very very non competitive too and I think all the kids did something in the talent show -- it wasn't just for budding stars.

So, I guess in my own long winded way, I'm saying, if you don't fit into a group you find, start your own.

I love too having stuff stockpiled. I used to have to run to the store a lot before I started couponing. I do need to learn to keep more stuff on hand and not GS all of something. You never know when you will need something.

I don't really have any WMs that are close, and I really don't like going in there (people of WM and all...). But I do have some Gain Qs that I want to use this time, so I'm going to make a few trips over the next couple weeks. I'll add those to my Q pile when I go. Smilie

BTW, I thought I'd heard that the registers at WM will only take a max of 20 Qs. But I've also heard about people using more than that. Is there a limit that you guys know of?
