I am boycotting them. Do you know what those rat bastards did? They stopped carrying that ridiculously expensive silk lotion. It was $18 a bottle so it only came home with me at 75% off and preferable with a coupon, but man did it feel nice.

I'm with you l2b......I have a couple good friends in RL that I think will be good friends for a long time. But for some reason my friends ALWAYS end up being older than me. Not a bad thing but my two friends I would consider closest are both 5-10 yrs. older and just at a bit different stage in life....though all of us are parents with young kids, have lots of other things in common, etc. but it is just different and friends are human and will let ya down, even hurt you sometimes.

But I was thinking the other day that I only really have a small handful of people that have been in my life for a long time and most of those are family (mom, brother, etc.) Only 2 of those aren't - one is one of the friends above who was my matron of honor in my wedding. The other is ironically my choir teacher from high school....she was my teacher from 8th grade on and helped me out a lot during my teenage years and we were close even after high school -- she even sang at my wedding. Now we are both first-time parents together and I watch her son occasionally for her....she's been a part of my life for 12 years, the longest of anyone besides family.

Besides my dh and the pastor who married us and those couple people above, I look at my wedding pics and am like Faint where did all these people go?!?! People change a lot over time and I'll leave it at that Sadwalk

Yep.. people do change.. We have been married almost 20 years and the only people from our photos that we still keep in touch with are the ones related to usLMAO

Hey, is there any kind soul who remembers the link to that kcup online deal?.. where you register your machine and buy one get one or something like that. I just can't find enough varieties in the store, and want more choices, esp with decaf..

BBW on BF is a zoo like anywhere else.. I usually stop by and grab a few wall flowers cause they almost always run them for 5.00 each and they make nice gifts.. But, the line is usually to the door.

Have you been? I'm thinking about going tomorrow.
I don't live near one, but my mom does - there's one about 15 mins away from her. She's hoping to go tomorrow, but their day is looking pretty full. My dad is a pastor up there and since its such a depressed economy, he spends a lot of time driving people to doctor appts and such like. Not that they themselves have more than two cents to rub together, but at least they have a working vehicle. Anyway, my mom is hoping to get there - she did get my envelope full of coupons, so I hope she gets to get lots of free toothpaste and toothbrushes, at least!! My bet is that NO ONE up there will know about it, so she should have plenty of stock to shop from. At least I'm Pray that's the case.

Are you asking about this year specifically or B&BW BF in general? I heart stopping in there. They always have lots of great items for dirt cheap, plus they always have a bag full of items that you can buy for a greatly reduced price if you spend a certain amount. Since I'm usually in there shopping for gifts/stockings/etc. anyway, the bag is great to divvy up amongst the people on your list.

But then, I just love Black Friday anyway, warts and all. Even if the ads were sucky except for one perfect deal, I'd be out at 5:00 am for that one perfect deal. laugh out loud Although I read that Kohl's is going to open at 3??? That's just ridiculous...

I normally love BF too, but just not feeling it this year since I'm limited by GCs and what store CCs I can use. Shopping is no fun without money! laugh out loud

Oh, trust me, I have been there, done that, too many years in a row to count. May be there again this year, depending on how my next two flea markets do. I'm kind of riding the high of my $500 sale on Saturday, but its amazing how quickly that money just fades away...

I'm pretty sure they have the antibacterial line 5/$10, and their signature collection is usually reduced. They always have bins set up with different price points, and I always get lots of goodies from there. Lip balms for $1, full size lotions/body washes for $3-$4, etc. Now mind you, I shop for 6 sisters plus 3 sisters-in-law plus my mom, so its way too easy to rack up lots of savings fairly quickly. In the past, I have gone in with a sister or two to combine our orders in order to qualify for the special purchase.

And in regards to friends in real life, I have one friend that has know me about 20 years (met when we were 11), and that is my longest-standing, strongest friendship. Other than that, I have lots of friends through church, but they're more the ones where you chat before/after church, hang out with at activities, etc., but you don't necessarily go out of your way to spend time with them during the week, kwim? Hubby and I are also youth workers in our church youth group, so we get some adult conversation weekly with the other workers there. I do, however, have 3 sisters who live locally, plus a sister who lives an hour away, and they are my confidants, and we always have a great time hanging out together. In that respect, I am hugely blessed. But I do feel a void sometimes, because I'm not really part of any of the moms cliques at church. I wish my kids had little friends to play with, other than during the nursery. Maybe that will be my resolution is to get/make friends for my little ones, especially Lillian.

Oh, that is too bad!!! Poor baby. I have promised Lillian that we will get to the store for her to pick out her very own piggy. She and Eva admire them every single time we are in the store, so I figured its finally time to get one. I hope theirs doesn't meet the same fate!!!

So so tired. Nicole, may have to raincheck on that phone call. Meds have kicked in and I am totally fixing to fall asleep while I type.

Got back from Houston today just in time to celebrate Tanner's7th birthday party. Rented a whale slide inflatable that was a blast. (and yes, I did slide my big ass down it) Big Grin

I tend to attract nutcases. Let's see, there was the pothead, the meth addict, the guy who was attracted to teens EEK!, the abuser...I can pick 'em, huh? I should learn that if I'm attracted to a guy, stay away. If I find him repulsive, he's probably sane and normal.
maybe the best way for you would be to start out as friends. you are obviously tech savvy considering your livelihood and you could relate to a lot of guys (well.....probably geeks but geeks are in these days). maybe after you move you could join some sort of club or organization that you are interested in. a friend of mine met and married a girl he met at a ski club. my db also met my SIL on a ski trip. although they are in the midst of the longest divorce in history. so many celebrities w/ tons of money have gotten divorced way faster than my db.

i think it's important to have common interests. dh is a huge baseball fan. i'm not a fan, but i used to watch w/ my dad when i was little and i know how the game is played, some of the bigger stars, the stars when dh was growing up, the controversies, the announcers b/c i'd watched them when they played, etc. i can follow along, watch a game and carry on some discussion. for the last 5 yrs, most of our vacations have revolved around going to watch his team play a game on the road.

i see bff drifting away from her dh. they are growing apart b/c they don't have any common interests, something to have fun together. her working w/ him out of necessity and 4 kids is somewhat keeping them together but i don't see them enjoy being togetherFrown. as far as i can tell, they only like to watch house hunters together. i keep telling her maybe she should go out on a date w/ him and spend some time alone w/ him and she doesn't even want to. i know she spends lots of time working w/ him, but still, you should be able to enjoy each other's company.

i think getgreen has a point. the people at places like match.com are serious about finding an SO and settling down. hopefully the weirdos get weeded out.

Awww I am soooooooooo sorry Frown That is so sad... I wish I would of bought one and I would've sent it to you...

Is that your adorable little leopard cats? If I were going to have a cat, we would have to have a conversation!

That would have been my last Christmas.
I hope you find he. He will be a lucky man.
Haha!! nope I got fined for a ring-tailed lemur LMAO It was a trip having all these people over here circling over my neighbors... so now no neighbors are allowed in my house... too much drama...

I would agree that would of been my last Christmas eve, however, those are his parents and he does not see anything wrong with what they do... as he states, we buy our kids everything so who cares if they buy all they can afford, but thats not the case it's that they buy the kids garbage then buys the other kids nice namebrand toys or clothes... just yuck!!
Quote from gt6mk31 :

On another note. I am fluctuating between wanting to do the outside Christmas stuff and thinking, eh, it's a lot of work, I won't bother this year -- interspersed with extreme urges to do it NOW. Last night the neighbor lady was putting our her things and asked me to help her with a couple. (I had told her previously I would). So, technically, I could do mine now while the weather is still nice and not be the first nut case on the block. Must resist the urge.
Oh you can do it!! I LOVE Christmas decor!!

I dont like my mil (well ex mil, Ive been separated for 3 yrs) She just doesn't live her life the way a grandma should. She drinks all the time and smokes pot. I remember one time being at her house for a cookout when my DS1 was about 2yrs old. We went outside and she was smoking pot... I was so pissed of..I called dh and told him to get his ass over there now to take us home. Thats just not something I want my kids around. She got all pissy talking about its her house! Well no shit its your house but dont invite us over if you gonna be doing that stuff. Anyhow, she hasnt talked to my kids in years, doesn't call them , doesn't send cards..nothing! I'm 100% ok with it because I dont want a person like that in my kids lives.

Geezz I hate ur mil and I dont even know her. Thats really messed up..what a bitch. I would so say something to her. My mom always tries to do things equally for her grandkids.
OMG I am so sorry for her behavior... I just don't like people that make my kids feel different then the other kids Frown It angers me, but they do get everything and know that i am always there for them...

Quote from gt6mk31 :
I remember once, my daughter's best friend was saying something about her Grandpa who was visiting and my daughter said, "I wish I had a Grandpa". She wasn't being a smart ass -- he just didn't cross her mind. I said, "Her Name, you do have a Grandpa". She just shrugged and said, "Oh, yeah, I forgot". Boy, talk about making me wanna bawl.
.
OMG I am soooooooooooo sorry for your dd... my parents are the kids grandparents while my dh's are just there every once in a while but won't even travel 1 1/2 hours away to see them Frown

Hello, everyone! Had an eventful morning...was brushing out my mare when she decided to rear up and catch me in the ribs with a hoof. I went down just in time to see her jump over me. Total fluke, she's 17 years old and has never hurt a fly up till today. She got a workout afterwards to teach her that she wasn't in charge, and she was good as gold.

Was going to run to T this afternoon...think I'll stay home and take ibuprofen instead.
Awww I hope you feel ok and not too bruised up.. horses scare me even though I love all types of animals lol

OMG! I hate them too. What is thier problem, tha is just plain weird.
They are just into their dd's kids and not ours... ours are on the end of the list... errrrrrrrrrrr irritating!

Quote from ank220 :
Okay... now I'm officially

I've had the weirdest "found stuff" day today... I just found 2 brand new ink cartridges that I needed - my red and my yellow. I am so sure I had used all my ink up and I was freaking out cuz I got the "you need to buy ink tomorrow" stupid thing the printer gives you and I wasn't sure how that was going to work - especially if I couldn't print any q's!!
Chili turned out pretty good - added a smidge of brown sugar (no honey here!!). Everyone enjoyed it! And thanks for the tape info!! I was the one saying we needed a good tq for it!! Big Grin

DH's grandma is stabilized. We really haven't gotten any more news beyond that. Her bp came back down, temp is good, heart rate is so so but slowly coming back to the way it should be, and something else that I can't remember right now... At any rate - seems she's doing better. They were talking about doing another pacemaker (before she got sick), but I don't really know how or when. She's not in great health, and I would think that would put her at even more risk. Unfortunately, I think it's just one of those "matter of time, one thing or the other" will get her kind of things. She's got bad kidneys and a bad heart - compound that with diabetes, collapsing veins, and cold/flu season - things don't look great.
We're just hanging in there and waiting, I guess.

I have NO clue what we'll do if she passes away. *sigh* Seems like everything is piling on at once. Vehicles are down, still have to finish paying on baby's birth, going to have to put off my foot surgery and dh's tumor removals (fatty tumors - not serious, but highly uncomfy for him and getting huge), and I have no idea what we'll do regarding DD's mouth. I guess I need to go find out what that will cost us to do first. But... it's making me a bit panicky. Thank goodness they just opened up over time at DH's work. He said he'll take as much as they'll give him, and I am missing him already! I soooo need to pull myself together so I can be a good wife and mom!
I am glad you found your printer cartridges...yay!! I hope your life evens out and is filled with only happiness!! Sending you lots of hugs and many prayers coming your way!!
