My Dad lives just outside of Tekamah, NE (Just south of Decatur & West of Little Sioux, IA) And his Birthday present to me this year was to buy me a deer permit to go hunting this weekend. I will be driving up through this tomorrow AM and sitting in a tree stand Saturday night, Sunday morning & night and again Monday morning. Please pray for me I get a deer that first Saturday night. Why oh Why was it I thought this would be a good father daughter bonding experience?
You won't regret it when he's gone heart

I gave a friend of mine a birthday gift basket of lotions, candles, nail polish, cute socks- basically all the pampering stuff I got free. And her reaction? Thanks for the free stuff, but what did you get me for my birthday?

If you have a Kohls nearby and have the $5 Qs plus a % off, you can get a good deal. I have a 15% I got in the mail, so sale price of $9.99-$5-15%=$3.50/box.
Well that is downright rude!!!!! I would say that she deserves nothing then - that will teach her to be in ingrate!

Thanks for the heads up on the coffee - how many coffees do you get for that $3.50 and how much does a Keurig maker cost to begin with ... it's super expensive right?

Wanna see my weather forecast? (too bad, I'm gonna post it anyway)
Minnesota is being slammed with that storm as well - a little will spill over into WI but I think we are sticking with rain. I am happy to wait ... don't look forward to shoveling! Stay warm!

TN - our conversation forced me to make another batch of caramel apples. I'm currently eating my way through all of them laugh out loud
Hey you deserve to eat your way thru them --- they baby like them!!!! Smilie Caramel apples RULE!!!

BTW - how is the PG progressing? You are getting close now aren't you?

Ok - are you an apple fan as well? Non-caramelized? Have you compared the Honeycrisp Apple Cider with regular Apple Cider? I am hoping for someone else's impression - I thought the reglar was better & that the Honeycrisp just tasted as if they had poured more sugar into it. Thoughts? LOL

Quote from ank220 :
The van had something wrong with the idle and I want to say modulator or something like that. Anyway, it cost us $260 to fix - so with the tow, $364 all total. Not great, but certainly not as bad as it could be, so that's good. DH decided to take tomorrow and drag everything not nailed down or on our physical person to the last flea market tomorrow, so we'll hopefully recoup some of that. I'm trying not to panic! It's not that bad, right??
That seems like such a lot --- but in the world of autos it is really quite reasonable!!!! I am so sorry! Why are cars such an issue? I hope that you get it working - and good luck at the flea market! HUGS HUGS HUGS

I have been thinking of Miss M - how is she doing? How about you? I bet your girls are loving her! heart

We are having our last yard sale tomorrow I think ... But, my washer is on it's last leg and I will need another one soon. And, I really want to go ahead and pay money and book a weekend getaway for our 20th anniversary next month! Who has extra durex party bags by the wayBig Grin
Wishing you loads of luck tomorrow with your garage sale! Make barrels of $$!! Hope your washer stays running a while too - a new washer certainly dings the checkbook Frown

Anyone heard from Notre - how is she doing?

It shouldn't. I was gonna get some yesterday. The 2 bar pack is 2.49 here. I decided to test the update with the wholly salsa first.. My 4.00 coupon went through beepless on the 2.99 salsa, so next time I am gonna get the cheaper olay.
Thanks! It was SO nice to have the coupons sail through and attach with NO beeps! Yahoo! I got the $2.49 twin bar packs, but did get one of the $6.14 multi packs because of the scent.

Oh, I got Wheat Thins, and I guess my $1/2 MQs stuck together, because I got 4 boxes and I see that 4 Qs are on the bottom of receipt. Oops! Wink

I had been avoiding Target like the plague pretty much, with all the coupon problems and lack of stores here. I will be visiting much more now if they don't screw things up again. Now they just need to fix the GC glitch, but I'm sure Mr. Rox will let us know how that is going. Teehee

EEK! And you now have about 100 new friends right? LMAO I'm going to Kohl's tonight to see if I can find some more sweaters for this cold weather. We only have 1 Kohl's here too, so it sucks if they don't have my size in something, no other store to fall back on!

LMAO Silly rabbit. That's what you use the free packing for. Tape them shut and label them "Dishes".

Temps aren't supposed to be too bad and that area at least isn't in the middle of the winter storm warning area. You should be good. Just one thing..... if you take a buck, can I have your antlers? No, I don't want to mount them, just take a hack saw and hack them off. My dog has hers chewed down to about nothin'! Good luck! Hope you get a nice tender juicy one.

GT- A friend just killed a buck the other day, let me find out what he's doing with the antlers, if nothing I'll grab them and can mail them to you.

I wanted to ask here, does anyone have the $0.40/2 Campbell's Condensed Soup coupon? It's from 10/3 SS. If you do and are interested in trading them to me please let me know! I promised a lot to the food pantry and now I can't meet my promise, and I hate breaking promises. I see them on ebay, but every time I bid they go up too high for me to buy. Frown

I had worked out a trade for a bunch with a person for the food pantry, only to have her back out at the very last second. I'm definitely NOT happy! I need lots, but at this point will settle for whatever I can get. I have lots of stuff to trade (just no olay/secret/gain dish soap/ or $2 clariol) for these. Thanks!

i read 5 threads b/c i can't help myself.

and i can't help trying to defend myself from the evil that lurks on the pages. hug for having my back yesterday! the evil country person retreated to ignoring me.

Ummm - is thre anything you don't know ST?????? You continue to amaze me! Thank you for being a resident all around expert! heart HUGS HUGS

That is really neat!!!!! I love that you made an ornament from your first tree! We get real ones some years & use our fake one other years! I LOVE real trees - they smell so lovely - however they make my nose run & make me itch something FIERCE when I touch them ... however I still LOVE them! You described it exactly right .... that is one of the best parts of the tree --- the adventure of getting it!
i'm old, but not a geezer, so i know more than the young'uns but there is so much don't know. i know almost nothing about computers, ipods, iphones, ipads, and any other latest technology, any and all video games, anything electrical related, pet, automotive, etc, etc, etc and so much more.

you do learn a lot by just going out there, trying new things, just doing whatever you are interested in or comes across your way and experiencing life. i also have a very good but not photographic memory and i listen very carefully. you can also learn a lot from reading, tv and tons more from the internet.

and i learn a lot from my friends here, really i do. (although some of the things i learn i'm not sure i wanted to....) i'm just so awed and amazed sometimes! and i know i can ask if i need to.

about xmas trees, we do real and fake too. we do real if we have time to get a cheap one at home depot a few days b4. otherwise we just put up my mom's ancient one. it doesn't look as nice as the new ones but it has history and memories.

i would like to go cut down my own tree one yr and there are plenty of places nearby, but this yr it's not going to work.

Quote from audriannasmama :
I hate people like that! My BFF tells me all the time she loves stuff like that. So I try to make her little gift baskets as often as I can. My SIL Requested that for Christmas this year I give her HBAs.
my bff told me to give her health and beauty this yr. i know she feels bad b/c there are 6 of them and 2 of us and i also spend a lot of time w/ her and her kids and on her and her kids. i know she feels it's free to me but not to her b/c that's not her priority. so she is grateful to receive free items b/c it represents time and money she doesn't have to spend to go get it. i also don't just give her anything. i know it's something she appreciates.

i still will spend some money b/c you can't give 8 yr olds and 2 yr olds health and beauty when they are used to getting at least dollar spot clearance, but not a lot so she doesn't feel bad that i'm spending so much money b/c there are so many of them.

LOL - well, if you say so I think I will Teehee

I am an apple fan - I love Honeycrisp but never tried the cider. Regular cider is yummy though. We have an apple orchard near hear that has been in business for decades and we look forward to their cider all year.

I made my caramel apples from Honeycrisp though and chopped some peanuts to put on them and they are DELISH!

car is fixed. Whee dear me. It took long enough, but considering it took the dealership 2 years to "duplicate the problem", 2.5 hours isn't bad at all Roll

I had a stack of toupons to try out since everyone's luck is turning, but my luck turned and got sick after the dealership. spent the evening on the couch vomit Sadwalk Oh well. Maybe tomorrow....

Yeah. He did. In fact we had exactly 24 hours where both kids were well and I even thought to myself "wow, we got him well, without her getting sick". That's show me. Sadwalk

Sorry you didn't get to shop. Maybe tomorrow.

Oh, and I'm having a drink right now! Whee Although, I need to go to bed, we have a GS tomorrow.
