So I caught a mouse.....

Saw a mouse scampering around my garage so I got some glue traps. A little bit of peanut butter and within 45 mins I caught the sucker. His hind legs were stuck to the trap and he was bodyboarding around with his front legs. I took the trap and tossed it in the trash.

So I wake up later in the night by my dogs barking. I go down to the garage to check it out and lo and behold one of his buddies was trying a jail break and couldn't get out of the trash can (one of those rubbermaid round trash cans)! As soon as I lifted the top he took off. Mouse #1 was still in the bottom (fresh bag) twitching around. I left another trap (pack of 4!) with some more PB in the same spot.

30 minutes later I hear a "pop" sound which most likely came from the fireplace, but I go downstairs to check it out anyway. The trap I just put out 30 minutes prior is GONE but mouse #1 is still hanging out in the trash. I checked around a bit but couldn't find mouse #2 (he couldn't have gone far, stuck to the trap).

Fast forward to this morning. Still no mouse #2. Mouse #1 made a jailbreak - the trap is still in the trash but no mouse!

It's all out war now.... put down the second 2 traps - let's see if I catch anything! Hopefully my idiot dogs don't get stuck in the traps.

I have a mouse issue. Had an exterminator come out. He sprayed this stuff in a couple holes they go in and out of and he said it kills em quick. He also put down poison and says the poison kinda embalms them or whatever so when they die they don't stink after. I have killed one by poison before and it died in a spot I didn't find for awhile and it really stunk. Exterminator said be sure to check spots like under couches in any bags on the floor and such for bodies. Also said the poison makes them very hot and they are more likely to run outside to cool off and sometimes die outside. I hated glue traps cause it seemed like all I had were super mice. Even the real tiny ones would get out of them eventually. Plus I hated hearing the squeaks of them being on the trap still alive. As for the classic snap traps they are kinda 50/50. Sometimes they are awesome, other times somehow the mouse eats the bait (peanut butter) and the trap wont even spring. Sometimes when it does the mouse somehow gets away anyway.

No, for just throwing one on a sticky trap into your bin, alive. I'm talking about the OP, not the poison. Why torture it like that, why just not kill it quickly so it doesn't have to suffer so damn much?

As I said, it's disgustingly cruel and not necessary to do that.
