first of all, on DH, Nono good for you on standing up for yourself. you did, right?

KA mixer... the first thing you do is hand wash the bowl, attachments and pouring shield and wipe them dry. always hand wash, never put in dishwasher.

the second thing you do is send off for the rebate. they are very quick in reimbursing.

the third thing you do is look at the first couple of pages of the book and learn how to fix the bowl in place and how to use the bowl lift mechanism. very important.

and now you're in business to start using it. so the next thing you do is mix up some bread dough, or whip up some cake batter, or mix the cookie batter, or pizza dough. then bake and enjoy!
i found with mine, it was best to start off with the simple things first. like cake batter. or simple bread dough or corn bread batter. because you got instant results and that made it exciting to try more stuff. and once you start getting hooked on it you won't want to make anything without it.
it's a godsend for us, especially now that I am hurt. in the past few weeks alone it has helped so much. i just measure the ingredients out while sitting at the table or on a couch. pour into the mixer and it does the rest.
cake batter whipped up in a few minutes. ditto icing. same thing with bread dough, pizza dough and a myriad other things. it's amazing.

i'm waiting to be able to get the slicer/shredder attachment and a few others.

oh and while you're doing all this the next thing you should do is go onto ebay, looking for kitchenaid mixer 6qt cover and find a good cover and order it. will keep your mixer protected from dust and make it less of a cleaning hassle.

LMAO Yes J is VERY supportive of my reading these kind of series. Laurell Hamiliton is heavy on the sexy scenes if you read. When I was working, I tried to time what book I was reading to when I was working or not. Doesn't make sense to read some of the 'good' ones when stuck at work and can't do anything about it! EEK! LMAO
