DH's grandma had a bad stroke today so they are not going to do the surgery for the brain bleeding. She didn't recognize her kids or grandkids and was not talking. After talking with the doctors, the family decided to not do the surgery, take her off of dialysis, and take her home and have hospice come in. Hospice will keep her comfortable and wait for her to pass. No idea how long it will take - they said it will depend on when the kidneys shut down. I had to call dh and let him know, and while he knew her time was likely to be sooner rather than later, he's pretty shocked right now. heart Please pray for him - I think this will be especially hard for him.
I am so sorry. All the comfort to your DH and your family. hug

I'm baaaaa ack! The case is being tried by a district judge and state attorney. I guess the judge sets the size of the jury pool. Today it was 112. I'm assuming because this is such a small county that everybody knows everybody so they anticipate excusing a lot of people. Out of the first 25 they excused and refilled one at a time and then, boom, 4 went all at once. So they called the next 10 and let everyone else go to lunch. I was at the bottom of that 10 (7th or 8th). They filled the 4 seats before me. Then when they dwindled down again they got their 13 without needing anyone else to choose from. So, 5 1/2 hours later. I am home. Oh, the list of who is called in what order is randomly computer generated. I'm tired. Apparently sitting on your ass most of the day is tiring.

I promised recipes from the Philadelphia Cooking Creme booklet. I was going to make:

Sausage & Vegetable Calzones
1/2 lb. Italian sausage
1/2 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
1 large red pepper cut into strips halved
1 tub Philadelphia Savory Garlic Cooking Creme
1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 can (10 o.) refrigerated pizza crust

Heat oven to 400
Brown sausage with mushrooms and peppers. Drain, return to skillet.
Stir in Cooking Creme and mozzarella. Remove from heat.

Unroll pizza dough. Pat out to 15 x 11 inch rectangle; cut lengthwise in half, then cut each piece crosswise into thirds.

Top dough rectangles with sausage mixture; fold in half. Seal edges with fork.

Place on sprayed baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes or until golden brown.

But they looked at the book and decided this looked good. So, tonight I am making:

Creamy Chicken Pot Pie
1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into bite size pieces
2 cups frozen mixed veggies, thawed and drained
1 tub Philadelphia Savory Garlic Cooking Cream
1 ready to use refrigerated pie crust

Heat oven to 400
Cook chicken until light brown, add veggies cook 1 - 2 minutes until heated through.
Stir in cooking cream
Put into 9" pie pan
Cover with crust; seal and flute edge. Cut slits in top.
Place pie pan on baking sheet.
Bake 25 - 30 minutes, until golden brown.
Creamy Chicken Pot Pie

Since I planned to make calzones, I bought a pizza crust and don't have a store pie crust. I'm just going to make one.

Ank, I am very sorry to hear about DH's grandma. Frown All this sadness going around. All the lost loved ones. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Well, I got sick and tired of trying to sell off my stockpile so I posted on craigslist that it was free. People came by the van-load. Some super greedy and pissing me off, others conservative and greatful. Then this one guy came by that goes to a local church. He didn't really want much, just some cough drops. He was very nice, didn't plead his case, nothing. I offered to give him the rest. The look on his face was priceless. I let the greedy people finish loading up their bags and boxes and waited for them to leave. The guy went and got a trailer and came back and we filled it from the front to the back with all my stockpile stuff. (with the exception of 2 tubs of stuff that I'm keeping)

He's coming back tomorrow to get a bed, dresser, and patio furniture we don't need. He's also going to haul off all the bags and bags of crap that we've had to toss out and boxes we don't need. So awesome.

Anyhow. I did my good deed for a long time. Smilie

Get that cooking, then make corn bread. Yes, it's required. Then the best part is once you take up your bowl of beans you throw raw chopped onion in it.
Speaking of the corn bread, Bjs has free coupon for a pack of corn bread and banana.. Here is the link [chtah.com]. Link to the orginal thread is here..

yes, i saw last wed. went to king of prussia for first time to see free preview of *no strings attached* and then had dinner at legal seafood. took us a little over an hr to get there so that will always be a special trip b/c dh hates shopping and bff hates going any further than she possibly has to.
............snip.....
hug will do that.. we usually go to sesame place atleast twice during the summer, less than an hr from my place.. we always travel to Nj which is quite often since we have lots of friends, we go along route 1.

I told DH this other day when she did her little "potty, potty" thing that she would be easy to potty train, but then she's probably going to poop on my floor just to spite me. She's a naughty little monkey.....snip
She is too smart, may be you can train her quite easily. I trained my elder son very easily before 2, but my second one is real monkey, dont budge to any thing at all Smilie

Hi Gals!

Sorry I haven't been around, been pretty busy.

Anybody see the game last night?
How about them Pats!! (Yeah I'm wondering as well if they watched last night)
How about them Steelers...can't wait for them to lose.

Got lots of catching up to do.

........snip......My mom is almost 65, has some chronic health conditions (heart problems, early stages of Alzheimer's and other various ailments) and lives on disability. At least attempts to. She barely gets enough to pay rent. It would fall on me to pay the premiums and do all the footwork, try and take care of my mom from states away.... my family sucks, I can admit it.
hugYou are simply great, hugyou take of your mom and good karma your way:-)

Wow, very nice of you. I would have posted it on freecycle instead of craigslist. I think peeps on freecycle are more grateful and love the opportunity but craigslist shake head

Holy $hit Jamie! You certainly have done your good deed and boosted your coupon karma for a long long time!

So, now that you've done your good deal you need to check out the GS thread and see if you have any resellers in your area that would be willing to buy in bulk at a decent discount for future unloading purposes.
