Hey all. Does anyone have any recipies for meatless low fat dinners that are still easy and filling? DF's doc says he's a bit high on cholesterol and that one night a week this should fix it?

I get a call at work right away this morning from the dad of one of my daughter's x-friends. (Did I tell you about the friend of hers that stole from her?) Well, he just found out about it and wanted to tell us that he was sorry it happened...DRAMA...

Thanks for all of the tips with DS's friend. I fully understand poverty/child neglect etc since that is part of my world at work...my DH on the other hand didn't even notice the comments or the situation yesterday. I did send him home with a sack of goodies to share with his sisters since they didn't get to stay overnight...just in case!

Kids went back to school today and I think I am going to have some drinks at home tonight!

I seem to gravitate towards less contemporary Christian, I dunno why - I like traditional songs/music in that regard. Maybe just lack of exposure...our radio station does a lot of praise and worship songs like you'd hear in church, but, admittedly I don't listen to that station as much as I should. The kids kind of run the radio and happen to listen to what I always listened to so I suppose, like mother, like daughter.

Christianity Today called Jason Gray the "best kept secret in Christian music" and he was a hoot, too. He came up after the concert to the tables and was talking to people and then they all 3 went over to sign autographs for people. The girls got their autographs and a personal thank you for helping them sell merchandise. :no d:

After clean-up we were heading out and Jason was in the hallway talking with one of their people and thanked us again, shook hands with me and high-fived the girls - they talked about it all the way home. LOL

Ugg. This is going to be a relly sucky week! Df is officially done with wiork on Wed, and Hes so stressed out. I was doing fine, until he flipped out last night on spending $5 on a raffle ticket from the neighbor kid. Now im really stressed. I keep track of all the finances, and when i sat down and looked at it it seemed to me we were only going to be $100 short a month (which can be taken from savings for a while) and thats not including any unemployment he gets. But now im starting to worry i forgot something or he knows something I dont (he says no). Saturday wont be here fast enough, I just want to go back to bed.

So we had a good anniversary weekend. I'm still a little bummed that we didn't end up getting to go anywhere exciting, but I'll get over it, especially if things work out with the little bean. We were going to go to Las Vegas so I was watching tickets to plan a trip and then once we found out I was pregnant decided maybe I shouldn't fly with my history and also we thought maybe we should save the money for medical bills & when I'm not working. Anyway, we had a relaxing weekend in Omaha instead. Saw a movie, did some shopping and saw some friends that lived there. Our hotel was great - a Marriott I got on name your own prince on Priceline. Yesterday was fabulous weather so we got our garden all cleaned out and ready for planting. It was so nice to spend some time outside with the kids!

Been working on diaper cakes for decorations for a friend's baby shower this coming Sunday. Almost finished, just have to make bows for 4 more of them. Maybe I'll attach a picture..............

I forgot to mention it here, but J was a sweetheart at the baby shower. He came along (even though it was all women) to help with Sophia. She wanted to go, but I didn't want the challenge of keeping her entertained during it all. Well other kids showed up too (another 4 yo, a 5 yo, and a 19 month old) and he was amazing with all of them! Even fed the 19 month old her snack of yogurt, so that my friend could be a part of the party! :h eart: I need to do something for him to let him know how much I appreciate him!

We are actually having a small break from our biblical proportions of rain! I am shocked, but soo thankful!

Bean is 8 weeks today..........seems like an eternity already because of my nervousness with it all...........I can hardly think of 32 more weeks of this! Of course hopefully after 13 or 14 I will hopefully be a little more at ease. And yes, one will do! I have another appt. on Wednesday afternoon so hopefully things will go well that day and I will be a little less worried about it for a day or two anyway. Thanks for asking!

Yeah, the shower thing was an akward situation that turned out great! My MIL kept insisting on throwing me one, even though I wasn't sure I wanted one. Then at my SIL shower, she made a big 'to do' about how she was throwing me a shower, so I felt that I had to let her. I thought it was gonna be a damned if you do, damned if you don't kinda situation (my MIL always stresses about these kinda things, so I didn't want to put more stress on her), but it didn't turn out that way at all. She didn't seemed stressed, and I had a great time getting together with some friends and family. :hea rt: I got a lot of clothing! :lo l: And then some of the things off my registry. My step MIL and FIL weren't able to make it, so they came over last night and dropped off their gifts last night. They got us the jumperoo and the temporal thermometer we wanted. I am truly feeling blessed lately! I have some pics up on FB from the shower! :no d:

We just did a name your price on priceline (first time!) and ended up with a Mariott too. Decided that we're not going to be getting away any time soon since the babe is on the way. My parents are going to take DD for a weekend in April and we're going to sneak off to Portland for the weekend. Not a great tropical spot or anything, but at least a little getaway for us.

I hope Michelle stayed safe last night...there were tornados spotted down in her corner of Iowa. I'm sure that her heart skips a beat in bad weather.

Was it you or her that were hit by the tornado once?

It was Michelle! She put in bedrooms in the basement for this reason.

I got a great Ida on priceline a number of years ago. DH and I had gotten bumped on a flight so we had free tickets and so we flew to New Orleans (the Christmas before Katrina) for 5 nights. After booking the tickets I looked at motels and even the ones with the bullet holes in the windows were over $100. We couldn't afford that so I was messing around on priceline and ended up at the JW Mariot (top of the Marriot line) for $50 a night!!!! It was right on Canal we a block from Bourbon street. Great location. It was great. On other sites the room was $369 a night! We had a great time and a nice inexpensive trip.

Hi friends, been missing you guys. I'm doing okay, just starting to feel like a whale out of water. Can't believe I still have just over 10 weeks of this to go. Had a docs appt. today and all is well. The little man is growing on track, and kicking up a storm. I may give birth to a ninja. I'm fully counting down to spring break (1.5 weeks to go). Dh and I have 2 different spring breaks this year, which saves a lot on childcare, but is pretty sucky for family time.

Beef is included in almost everything I know how to cook. and all the recipies I have found today have tofu or other things im not willing to try in them. I think im going to try taco salad sans the hamburger tonight.
