The weather was a bit flaky in Mn yesterday. Woke up to snow on the ground again. Hopefully spring will come this year.... Went to my daughters College Senior Thesis presentation on Friday and she did a great job. I'm really proud of her.

I have 2 grad parties this year, since one daughter is graduating from High School, the other from College. Anybody have any favorite bars they like at these parties? I don't have the full menu planned, but both told me they want a taco bar/ taco in a bag thing.

Well today is a day for me. I was already coming here to ask my beloved friends for Pray and positive thoughts for some long drawn out family drama and then I just got more bad news. So on top of the family drama that my daddy and Momma Junie are going through, my dad was just dx with prostate cancer. I am trying not to freak out. The dr said he thinks its ok, and should be 100% curable, but they don't know yet. He has to go in for more testing. I feel like breaking down and Weeping for hours! This is a little too close to all the same kinda stuff I was going through a year ago with my mom. I can't even think about all of this. Momma Junie is flying out here tomorrow to be with me or when Lily comes, and now I feel guilty and think she should stay. My daddy and her won't listen, but I am worried. Also, I just found out that my grandma has to go in for a biopsy as well (she has cancer a long time ago). Momma Junie says it will all be ok, but I think she is just saying that to make me feel better and not stress too much.

Thats what I said to J, especially bc of the pressure I was feeling. It all stopped now that I have been sitting/laying for a while.
Prayers for your Daddy...

Wow, I'm going to sleep well tonight. Mowed the lawn, washed the garage door, front door, and part of the deck, then I primed both the garage door and the deck, took some photos of flowers sex organs (100% nude), and then coached the girls in softball. So tiring.

So our flowers are coming in, and I was able to get some relaxation time in with a old cigar (too bad an aging cigar doesn't improve with time, well not the way i keep them).

The last two shots are the same, but i ran it through an IR filter which almost makes the flower glow.

I'd appreciate any feedback, like flowers are boring, or stop taking photos of flowers sex organs, it's just profane, or even that's some pistol on that daffodil.
Very pretty photos, JD...Would look great on card or something bigger!

Sounds like lots going on in here for people. i hope everyone stays safe through the storms. Hoping babies all are ok as well as the prego moms. Praying for the families.
Hang in there everyone. Worked tonight and tomorrow night then DS has a psyc appointment in the city. Anything we should be buying. Any freebies at T with the TQs?

Was just thinking yesterday about your DS and wondering how he was doing as a newlywed. Loved the pics on FB of them!

Yesterday was a beautiful day to be outside (no wind & in the 70's). I got the entire front flower bed re-mulched, 1 banana plant planted and 3 bushes dug up that had died over winter. A bunch of bushes trimmed and when DH got home from the golf course, he got out the chainsaw and cut back 3 photinias (SP?) that I hope will make it. The plants on the north side of the house took a beating with our wild winter. Stupid weather even killed the crepe myrtle that was protecting my furboy's little grave. Frown So, now got to dig it out carefully. I've been afraid to plant many more of my banana's but surely we're not going to get too cold again in April...I am headed out now to plant a couple more. I was very sore and stiff last night from all that yardwork!

You are a professional! I swear I don't think I've even BEEN to as many weddings as you've been in Coverlaugh Have fun tonight!!
wasn't in that one... just a guest. Smilie but still had to fork out for a shower and a bachelorette, then the grrom announces that they are preggo. so looks like i will have ANOTHER baby shower in a few months. Amazon, where are you?! Crylol

Quote from k1m1c1 :
I remember when I was in my mid to late 20's it seemed like I was going to several weddings evey summer (they were always in summer around here) and then in my late 20 to early 30s I was going to several baby showers every summer. All of the that has tapered off now .....and now I'm feeling old......
yep, just had a baby shower today. Faint
but you are not old!!!! i feel like we all think 'old' is anything that we are... then, when we look back, we were so young...right?

DD called last night (or this morning) at 1:30 and wanted me to come pick her up. They had went out for breakfast after prom and then her friends wanted to go hang out at WalMart and she said that she wasn't feeling well, so she stayed in the car until I got there...she seemed fine when I got there about 15 minutes later, so I am hoping that nothing major was going on. 1:30 is pretty late for her, so I am hoping she was just tired. She was going to stay at one of the girl's and DH tried to tell me that I should just come with him for the night...I'm glad I didn't. I'm glad she knows that she can call me for whatever reason and I will be there...but I am tired as 1:30 is pretty late for me as well!
i think it's great that she called you. you never know what she could have opted out of after a prom... drinking, smoking, BOYS. sounds like she is a smart one. nod I always played the 'i'm not feeling well' trick whenever my "friends" were doing something i didn't think was right. way to go DD!!! :high5:

so i made a HUGE basket for the shower i have today...thanks amazon! It's DF's sister, so it went to a good home. although i didn't get much from amazon, i put it to good use. i gave her diapers and the muffin bib from there. got free wipes at T (thanks for the HU ariel with the bogo's a couple weeks ago) lined the whole thing with hanging socks (free right now at T with the $1 circo TQ) and gave all johnson & johnson nescessities (free from RA last month- thanks snowie!) and decorated with some baby food jars (free from the market with that $5 beeachnut q- thanks again kootz!). i am quite proud of myself, i won't lie. i bought the $5 collapsable storage bin to put everything in and the wrap, bow and card... oo and $1.25 and $2.48 on a blanket and outfit from T. so for under $10, it looked like i spent $100. one of my best scores yet! I love having an actual basement to store all this stuff!!!! LOL ok i'm done bragging. thanks for all the help EVERYONE. hug

so now i am concentrating on my sister's shower. but not until we have another floral meeting tomorrow, cake tasting tues, engagement photo pick wedns, so i guess thursday i will concentrate. LOL ugh.

hope everyone else is relaxing, because that's all. i. want. to. do.

wow, i'm chatty today... i had 2 cokes! EEK!

Score on the baby basket!!!! Sounds like an awesome gift! Don't you just love giving an awesome gift that you hardly paid anything for?

Sounds like you are in for a busy week! Hope you have fun!

I've got a busy week too.......Monday working late to do computer updates (praying for less stress than the last time I did the computer updates!). Tuesday night DD has dance and then her music concert. Wednesday just work. Thursday two doctors' appointments and hopefully some shopping - although one appt. is in Omaha and one is in Des Moines so lots of driving that day. Friday night family time since DH's sisters will be in town for Easter. Have to squeeze in some time for homework this week too. Guess maybe Wednesday?

I am glad as well! Kudos mom, you have definitely done a wonderful job with her!
I hope when my DD is that age she will know the same thing and will do it if the need arises. When she is older I'll have to tell her that if she isn't comfortable with a situation she can always say she doesn't feel good and wants to go home.

Great job Mom as this is a huge achievment for her to know that she can call you. And YEAH get job to your daughter for knowing that she can call you when she doesn't feel well etc.

The week was even worse because things at work are a disaster. We had a deal worked out for the sale of the pharmacy and then the buyer started pulling out all these stupid & expensive requests, things we wouldn't have to do if we were selling it to anyone else. They wouldn't budge and just royally just pissed us all off. We really would love to pull the plug on the whole deal but we think it is the best offer she will get and it would actually be an even bigger headache if we did that. We are waiting on the the owner (the deceased pharmacist's wife) to make her final decision.

I was a busy bee today as well. Got some employment tax stuff done, a few loads of laundry, dyed Easter Eggs with the kids, made Rice Krispie eggs with the kids, Sweat to the Oldies with Richard Simmons for awhile, made grilled pork & fixins' for supper, caught up on my homework, and now checking in with you guys! I'm tired so think I'll go veg on the couch for awhile and then hit the hay. Nighty Night!
Holy crap - I forgot you were taking classes as well as everything else going on in your life right now. Comfort

Your sweating to the oldies made me LOL Big Grin

Work again today. Hoping for good coupons. And that someone doesn't take them all before everyone checks in and then I can. lol
laugh out loud Hope all goes according to plan! Oh and I don't think there is anything you are missing at T but I probably wouldn't know if you were. LMAO I just checked TT and it looks like nuttin.

Rach---how are you? How is the precious baby? I'm STILL sick---nothing terminal, just a sinus/ear infection that won't go away. Not enough hours in the day. Miss you and all of the rest of my SF Friends! Smilie

The basement is looking better. It appears that it was as high as 6 inches at one point. From what I gather, it appears that even if we had caught it early, it still would have been just as bad because we wouldn't be able to sump pump the water out because it would just come right back in, and we just had way too much stuff on the ground. We won't make that mistake again, but it is quite disheartening.

Sorry for your flooded basement JD, It is a pain to clean up. Getting 5 inches of rain would be hard for anyone to handle so stop beating yourself up. hughughug
