I totally feel for you and am so glad you and dh went to counseling together. My dh wants me to bring as little as possible into this house. Even when I save us all kinds of money, he just has major issues with my buying anything in more quantity than we immediately use. Stupy.Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
YEs, they just don't get it.
Quote from timelinedawn :
My stepfather was very much like this and if you gave up the couponing he would come up with something else to nag you about so you might as well do something you love. It is a control thing. hug I have been in the exact situation where he agreed to go to family counseling so he could complain about me and then the counselor didn't bite. I was very validated because I was just a teenager and thought maybe I was crazy!!
I agree with you. I could give it all up and then it would be how much money I spend. laugh out loud Hence why I haven't given it up.
Quote from knott02 :
Not to defend her DH, but this is very much a "farmer" attitude. Waste is not tollerated. Chris lives in a "VERY CONSERVATIVE" corner of Iowa and this attitude is not that unusual there. Not right, but not unusual. I am so proud of Chris for not only going to counseling, but for also getting a part-time job...that is "bucking" the trend up there as well.

Great job again Chris! I could hear you roar all the way over here...unless of course it was that thunder snow we had...but I think it was you!
This is very true. Every good Dutch woman's house is perfect and uncluttered and clean. It is definately the expectation here. The problem is that because of it some people that could be very hospitable aren't because in order to have friends over they would have to clean everything. I HATE that attitude.

Sup all. Dallas is a regular bike riding fool.

She's taking off from a dead stop all on her own, she's riding in the walking/biking path on my road (though not with sufficient consistency) and she's riding uphill well. All without any falls and scrapes. She's doing much better than I did.

Here are some more photos of flowers... I'm thinking about starting a series called, "Plants 'Round Ma House That Aren't Weeds".

Though the title is a mouthful.

I am going to keep on trucking on the book and see how it goes. I believe there are 12 cd's and I just finished one.

I am hoping to get things on schedule around here so that I can start reading again. I miss my Kindle but can't seem to even put a dent in my mags lately.

On your downloaded ones...do you have any Jodi Picoult. I have never read her and people tell me she's great.

I have never made these but would love to try. I am thinking it's a fun thing for dh. His name with a motorcycle on it :cool :

For the girls...Have you maybe checked out K's. Now that it's getting close to Mom's Day, they might have some pretty jewerly for "sisters"
Just try to work on it a little at a time, then it will get done Smilie

I get like that, I will go days without reading, but then read all day long. laugh out loud

I have only read 1 book by Jodi Picoult, which was My Sister's Keeper and I loved it! After you posted this yesterday I downloaded the rest of her books! I think this is a PERFECT suggestion as of what to read now! Thanks so much! I will start them (in order probably) after I finish the one I am currently reading!

That would be cool to put his motorcycle on it!

I haven't checked Kohls, I was really hoping for a teddy bear, but the local stores didn't pan out. Frown Momma Junie and I went to Micheals yesterday evening and we came up with something that will work I think. I will post about it in a minute.

Quote from zmmorgan :
So happy that Momma Junie is there to take care of you! Still keeping & the Daddy in my prayers. Can't wait to hear Lily has arrived safely!

Sorry to hear J isn't on the mend yet. Hope the Dr is able to give him something to kick this illness.

Knock on wood, things are going pretty well today. Been a busy bee catching up on all the stuff I put off the last few days. I've made a pretty good dent in it so thought I'd reward myself with a little chat with you guys!
Thanks dear! We took him in and his ears are better, but he got hit with gastroenteritis and so that is why he was dizzy and vomiting. He last vomited at 11:30 yesterday morning, so he is on the mend again. He can go back to work tomorrow as long as no more vomiting occurs and he feels up to it. I hope he does, bc I have a dr appt tomorrow and I want to keep up with our tradition of going out to lunch after my appt. Embarrassment Selfish I know!

Glad things are going well! hug

I've got it on my IPad (thanks to Ariel) ready to read when we go on the family cruise.
Speaking of cruise, 2 excursions booked (Gr Cayman and Cozumel)...no idea what we want to do in Jamaica though. I cannot wait!

Hope J is feeling better...Take it easy this last few days before little Miss Lily gets here. You'll be busy after that!

Prayers still going out for him.
I hope you love the book! Your cruise sounds WONDERFUL!!

Thanks dear!! hug

Quote from chrrrrris :
Well, I left there smiling and DH left rather upset. :teehee : I think he thought that the counselor would side with him. He doesn't realize that counselors don't do that. He had gone around the house and written down all my stockpile crap and read off the list to him. :lol : oh well, He has no problem eating all my nuts from the T deal or the candy. When our time was up the C asked what next if we wanted to come back and DH said "I'm busy!" with an attitude tone of NO WAY! Hopefully he will think about it but I made another appointment and will continue to try to get healthy myself. SO THERE!!!!! I am woman hear me roar!!!
I am glad you are going to counseling and that it went well! SOrry that your DH is still being stupy about your Q'ing. Frown That is never fun!

Quote from mustoffa :
I totally get you on the sleeping thing. Sheesh. A full night's sleep sounds wonderful. Don't beat yourself up over the water aerobics stuff, you can make yourself feel better by knowing that I love nothing more than laying on the couch all evening once I make it home from work. And build-a-bears would be great too! I've heard about kids putting something special inside when they are stuffed to make them extra special.
Quote from mustoffa :
Dh and I had a good weekend in Portland. (snip)

Ariel, can't wait to see your little lamb! Hang in there.
Thanks hun! I slept ok last night, I did have to get up to potty, but otherwise I actually slept in until 7 am!

Glad you had a good time in Portland!!

So last night we went to Michaels bc Momma Junie says her stpre has a whole aisle of Teddy Bears and the clothes for them. So I figured we could make the shirts ourselves and then be done. Well my store doesn't have them. Frown But we did find something that I think will turn out cute. They had a new shelf of these pre made and make yourself awards. They are called Bravissimo [makingmemories.com]. So I bought 2 semi finished ones and then bought blank 'sentiments' so that I could make them custom. Then we found a sticker that says "big sister' on it, so I will add that to the blank sentiment. It sounds kinda confusing when I type it, but I will take pics of it when I finish them.
I was just gonna give them the awards, but when I was showing them to J, he thinks we should put them on the build a bears they make. I wanted to be able to give them the gift when Lily is born, but that wouldn't work with a build a bear, so we decided to give them the awards at the hospital and then J will take them to build a bear on the weekend after Lily is born, while we are resting at home. I think this will work. Smilie

on another note, I got someone's mini book today, my addy on the outside but not my book and not my name and addy on the inside slip. So I call to explain this, had to repeat the situation 3 times?! How hard it that to figure out? So they say they are going to send me a coupon for another mini book and I'm supposed to send this guys back. I'm supposed to mail it, on my own dime....I gave them his name, address and order number (which was all on the enclosed slip, WTF?) so why do I have to mail this back.....just send him a new one. Don't think I'll be using them again. Tempted to write something on their FB page.

I'm not sure if I am thankful for this late cold weather or not...we have been having problems with our furnace and it won't kick on...60 degrees is feeling pretty chilly inside! But I want to hold off a little to call the HVAC person...I hope we don't need a new furnace...but it might not surprise me since ours is old...I keep trying to tell myself that if we have to replace it it wil save us money on utilities and then I could get my AC unit moved as well so I could really get serious about re-doing my kitchen as I want to add a door to my kitchen but the AC unit is in the way!

So glad that I am off work tomorrow...needed a long weekend and a break! DS and I will hang tomorrow. DH has to work and DD went to Des Moines with a friend all weekend...hopefullly a quiet weekend!

Don't send it and say you did. The other guy will call to say he never got his and they will have to send him one anyway. No sense for you to spend out of pocket for their mistake.
