Fyi,
For those who want "spoilers" for the series, you can always go on Wiki to read pretty detailed (but fairly short) summaries of each book.

By the way, I think it's so ridiculous and stupid how some ppl are reacting this way. Hello?!?!? It's in the book(s). And, the producers of the show certainly aren't going to keep Robb alive to keep any viewers happy. That would require major tinkering with the script and original story!
I misread and thought it was HERE. Like on this thread. Facepalm I have been reading a bit on some of the wiki boards about the characters but I didn't realize you could get a synopsis of each book.

My DD is like that. But she takes it to the extreme though. She flips out when someone puts spoilers on FB or says anything. Crazy I love spoilers. Heck, when a new HP book came out I'd get my copy and read the end first. I keep trying to tell her that it's the journey, not the destination. It ain't working. laugh out loud

I have read the book, and I must say I am really liking the series. You got to admit, Martin starts going all over the place with the books and it would be almost impossible / boring if the series was cannon.

The series imho has stayed true to the books as much as a TV series could be and that has made it easier to accept most of the changes.

I must say, the face my wife made during the red wedding was the most priceless thing I have seen in a while, and my dad calling me late sunday night (he is usually asleep by 6:30) asking "Did you just watch it?"

Yeah...I see that side of it..but for me..let's say I know so and so is in 3 episodes...and they just showed up this week... then I know when they'll get all died and stuff. Stick Out Tongue
Ohhh, that makes sense Smilie (and I forgot your comment about not wanting to know names of characters, too).

Though some people show up a couple times, and you don't see them again for quite a while. Wink

Slightly maybe spoiler-y, but not really [hiding it just in case]:
GRRM was on Conan last night. He said that during the premiere party or something, he was talking to three actresses, So I'm not entirely sure. He might have been thinking more long-term in the story, too. Dontknow

I had heard that they changed Asha to Yara to avoid confusion with Osha Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
It could happen. When I first read The Lord of the Rings many moons ago, "Sauron" and "Saruman" could blur together. Though, I couldn't put the books down until I found out what happened, so maybe it was just my eyes causing the blur.

Facepalm When I first read LOTR, I skimmed past the battle of Helm's Deep to the point that I had no clue what was going on during the movie laugh out loud

Sometimes I skim a bit too much Oops

For the show though, I don't see how Asha and Osha could be confused. I didn't read the books before the first season, so none of the names mattered to me anyway. I couldn't keep it all straight, so naming someone different wouldn't have cleared any of it up. For a little while, Jon, Robb, and Theon were all a blur for me Facepalm

I love this photo of Peter Dinklage with his dog. From what I've read about him, he's a cool guy.

But Yara... what an awful name! Asha was much better. Yara just sounds awful. vomit
Errr wait what? Yara is bad? Asha was better but look at the list of names and a lot are just horrrrrrible and we probably would never name our kids these so Yara seems more like par for the course really.

Eh, I guess that's true laugh out loud Maybe all the other names had time to grow on me, and Yara just sounds kinda opposite of Asha.

And hey, what's wrong with naming a kid after A Song of Ice and Fire character? laugh out loud I think Lyanna or Arya wouldn't be so bad... Girly

Oh no there are some pretty names, don't get me wrong. But there are some atrocious ones also. Theon isn't all that great. Walder (Frey) isn't all that great as well. Catelyn is nice, cat for short, as is Myrcella. But who would name their kid Tyrion in this day and age? EEK! Who would want to sound like a prescription drug? laugh out loud Don't get me started on Hodor, Bronn, Pypar, Grenn, and Renly (sounds like a car name, the Buick Renly).

Oh yeah, Walder. What an awful name! I like the name Tyrion (not for a kid, maybe a pet?) but I do see what you mean about how it sounds like a prescription drug Crylol

Someone I work with is named Theo, and I have almost called him Theon several times now Coverlaugh
