Nope, just Heidi. We also have Sugar, a golden retriever husky mix. She is technically my daughter's dog. She got her for Christmas when she (DD) was about 10. And we now have my son's Chihuahua. She was a puppy mill rescue that he adopted. Because, you know, when you live in an apartment, work, go to school, and have the social life of a 23 year single male -- you NEED a dog.

LMAO I hear ya on that one... I guess he didn't LMAO
Yeah my house is now full of dd animals kitty left over from when she was about ten ,two shelties, she brought home with her . The sheepie was also somone else's that they where gonna take to the pound, because of downsizing...HELL to THE NO WAY he wouldn't have made it, he is a total love bug , barks for attention ,with his size and deep bark he would have scared them all off. Plus he is so high maintance with the coat.
The animal that was ours we had to put down due to old age deteroration, deaf, bad hips, he was actually collapsing when he walked and nasal polops.. I cried honestly for two weeks. He was a great dog nod

It's a madhouse I tell ya.

Sugar is pretty also. My ds has Chihuahuas, I don't care for them they are yappy and nippy little creatures.

I know there are a couple other people here with thyroid issues. Any of you have horrible hair as a result? Mine has thinned terribly and it's all limp and fine. It's just nasty. It's medium long -- below the shoulders in back and most of the sides. Yes, I know, limp thin hair should be short. But hubby HATES short hair and frankly, stuffing it into a clip or pony tail is just too easy and I don't really like short hair either.

Anyway, I contemplating a perm. I haven't had one in years. A year or two ago I actually got one at beauty shop and it didn't take. Not sure if it's my hair or the the girl who did it. If I do it, I'm doing it myself. Yes, I know what I am doing. I used to perm pretty regularly. So cost isn't a factor. The box is sitting in the bathroom and the rods are in the cupboard. What do ya think? Should I give it a shot? Then, I thinking, if I do, that I will run into town tomorrow or Thursday and have it trimmed and shaped up a little bit. Contemplating actually getting it cut a little bit more than a trim but not short.
My hair has become thin and very flat.. So thin in fact that I hate it.. My DH loves long hair too, but I finally told him that I hated having long, thin, and stringy hair.. It didn't look good on me at all. I went shorter, not super short.. It sits just on my shoulders, and got some layers in it, which makes it look fuller. I also just treated myself to some highlights and color as a weight loss reward Smilie

If you like the permed look on yourself, I say go for it!

Okay... those of you who shop with kids... are your kids well behaved? Cuz I feel like I can't take my toddler with me. I mean, she's gotten a bit better, but if I don't strap her down with duct tape to the cart and chain her in, she's running around, whining, and generally being a stinker. I think that is part of what is cramping my shopping too - I just can't stand the idea of taking her out to the store. She's too big to sit in that little seat up front, won't sit still in the basket, and if she walks with me she's just driving me crazy by walking too far away or trying to ride under the cart, etc... Those elephant carts are no help because she gets in and out of the straps by herself. Ugh. Am I expecting too much maybe?
I can relate.. I think each child is different.. I shopped with my other 3, but maybe it was easier then cause I wasn't try to sort coupons and do deals Dontknow I have never really been able to shop with my last DD. Once she outgrew the infant stage, it just became impossible for me. I get frustrated, she gets frustrated and I make mistakes or don't get what I need. Now, if she goes, then someone is assigned to entertain her while I shop. But, even at that, my DH ends up taking her to the car before I am done most times.

My kids are good as gold at T when I get them the popcorn combo. Strap them in the huge ol' cart, give them their popcorn, and off we go. I get one bag and split it between whichever kids I have with me. Works every time. If popcorn doesn't work, is there another snack she enjoys from the cafe? It will at least buy you a little time. laugh out loud
We have some luck with the popcorn at times. We buy one, and she sits in the seat.. but she quickly gets bored with it and wants out of the cart to walk.. Then, I am trying to push the cart and watch her and keep her from getting run over, etc.. If I am going in for a few things, I take her, but if it is a full target trip, no way..

Have B babysit every now and again. She's old enough and I'm sure she can be bribed with some swag like my B. laugh out loud

If it weren't for Mini Thrift I would not have the stockpiles that we need. She doesn't always like watching JJ, but she does like the makeup, iTunes GCs, etc that I bring home for her. We have a dry erase board that we list our overage wants on and she puts one thing on it...tights. Umm, sure thing kiddo, that's a piece of cake! Her help is never forgotten or taken for granted.
e:
nod That is my best suggestion too ! My older kids watch the toddler often so I can shop, or so DH and I can go out.. They know they are getting paid in some type of reward.. Xbox points, itunes, snacks, etc..

Ooooo speaking of k-cups....did you put that Wild Mountain Blueberry one in the box or did someone else?? I have wanted to try that one FOREVER but never wanted to buy a whole box. I think it's to die for! That and loved Cinnamon Pastry. Didn't care so much for Mudslide....it was jut OK.
e:
Yep, I added the blueberry and the cinnamon. I just tried the blueberry last week myself. I only had 3 of them cause they came in a multibox.. I liked it too.. Cinnamon pastry is one of my favorites as well.
I didn't really care for the mudslide either. Thankfully, I only bought a sample box. Now, the chocolate almond had great reviews but I didn't like it and have a whole box of it Frown

Just because the law *says* they can legally drive at 16 or even earlier on a school/work permit doesn't mean they HAVE to. Ya know, momma law supersedes state/federal law in this house. Wink

snip:
Yep..I understand that. My DD took drivers ed summer of her 8th grade year also, but she was not comfortable driving until about her junior year. She would drive a few blocks to the store or library with me in the car. I didn't really have to tell her 'no' cause she knew she wasn't ready. Made my 'momma job' really easy. And actually my son isn't too interested in driving either. He will take the drivers ed course because it is only offerend once a year here and space is very limited. So he will take it and spend the next few years getting some driving experience a little at a time until he (and I lol) feels he is truly ready to drive. Luckily, we live in a small town and there is not much to have to drive to anyways.

Define well behaved? My son was always very good. I usually took a blanket, small toys, and a snack and put him in the basket. He would just sit in there and play. One day we were shopping along as usual, he was playing away and being good and apparently I hadn't been paying enough attention to what was going on. I looked down at him and he was stark naked. I had to wander around the store looking and collecting his clothes. But, he was in the cart being good, playing and singing.
That is just hilarious! Big Grin

I have to say, my kids *have* to be contained while I'm in the store or there's just no point in me going in. On a rare occasion, I will allow my 4yo daughter to walk, but then I have to keep her busy or its disastrous. Not that she's bad or wanders or throws fits or anything - she's just curious and wants to look at everything and touch and it just drives me crazy. My 2yo is definitely *always* in the cart, buckled. Not an option to get out.

I am trying mightily to get my shopping done in the morning so as to not interfere with family time at night, and that means I can't allow my kids to be a distraction. There is nothing wrong in teaching them to understand that when mommy is shopping, their job is to play quietly with my sister/eat my popcorn/watch the other shoppers/whathaveyou. Since we spend a lot of time in stores, its an excellent opportunity to bond and train at the same time.

Some days it work, some days it doesn't. laugh out loud

Been in a cleaning mood today.. Spent over an hour cleaning out the fridge.. Trashed alot of outdated stuff, and took every shelf and drawer out and scrubbed them.. I am pretty sure there was something growing under the bottom drawer vomit

Anyway, Just finished loading dishes, wiping counters and sweeping and mopping the kitchen.. Now, I am tired and don't want to cook and mess it up LMAO I think the kids are gonna get something quick and easy, and I am gonna go out with DH on our date night.. After dinner, I am gonna hit target bounce

Hopefully, they won't trash my clean kitchen while I am gone. Each of the older kids have a list of things they need to have done by tonight, or I am threatening turning off their cell phone.. that should motivate them Smilie

Long day..back with my coffee...

All these driving stories makes me tell that i got my licence when i was 22 in US, back in India we have driver (we could afford driver for less that $200/month)... and i had licence for 2 wheelers andthis [google.com]
Here before i got mine, lots of fight with DH coz he thought why i never had the direction-sense (i always take left for right and vice versa).. he thought i am going to fail my driving tests repeatly, but passed @ first attempt Smilie
Even now when i am driving he always says that this wrong, that wrong..I learnt to ignoreRoll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I'm slacking this year, don't have anything preplanned for her so tomorrow I need to pick up a few things.
Happy B'day to your DD...

Dont ask me, i always have nightmare, and DS#2 (26 months) would jump from cart coming out the STRAP..trust me, i donno what will happen to him the moment i come to checkout, i always dread, he is frustrated, i am frustrated...
Now a day, i just have his sipper ready, and the moment the casher starts or halfway through, i shove it in his mouth..so he is occupied. He gets upset if i try to divert him with other stuffs, would throw away.
One day he jumped from the cart and ran away @ wegmans while i was checking out, and i was assuming that strap is very tight and he cant get out. Later me and the cashier, one more associate caught him after 2 aisle..now i am careful, try to take him out with me :-)
