Meth is evil. Alot of suburban housewives call it Mommys little helper. You would be surprised who has tried meth to help with weightloss, housework, stamina for 2nd jobs, etc. It knows no boundaries. Can you possibly reason with her to give you custody of the baby for a while? I hate to say it but she is probably very well meaning and WANTS to be a good mother, but meth will hook her back in over time. It takes a strong person to get out of its grasp. I wouldn't purchase a used carseat for safety reasons. BUT.. go find a used one and take it to BRU. They have the trade-in program going on where (i think) you get 20% off the purchase of a new item. (carseats aren't the only thing included in this) Just a basic simple carseat with 20% off would be some savings.

I hope she can stay off the meth.

Do you belong to a church? You could try asking around to the folks there if they have one you could use or even ask the Deacons if they would provide a car seat (that's kind of what deacons are supposed to do Smilie ).

They're called space saver high chairs. They're awesome! They go from infant to big kid. I bought cheapy under the car seat mats (waterproof) and put them under the chairs for the kiddos for the "just in case" spills that are bound to occur. (We have fabric padded chairs.)

That is the one I got. I got it from amazon for $125 in December.
I've used it once, on the formal living room carpet. I wasn't just amazed with it, but then again I have nothing to compare it to. The area was very small, but it took a really long time, bc of having to empty & refill the water. So long, in fact, that I have put off using it again, but I need to. Some of our rooms really need it.

Oh damn, what a good idea! I have been using towels under my space saver high chair for the same reason as you (padded fabric chairs) but the towels always fall off. Do you have one you can recommend that stays in place pretty good?

Does anyone have a spare $5 Kohl's coupon they could share with me? I was hoping to get the stupid $10 email, but didn't Mad! Wish I could figure out how to get my email on their "good" list. I'm still trying to piece together Easter/First Communion outfits and that Q would really be appreciated. TIA.
