I, too, turned in early. Still have to watch the 2nd episode of ECand find the FB pages.

Thinkin' of hitting T today, and my new shiny Wags has a $3 off $10 ivc for the Grand Opening so I have to take full advantage of that but haven't read the thread and only glaced the ad but have been getting the Always for 2/$6 - $2qx2 get $4rr, they are out of Colgate, got a few 3/$1 easter crap, and Purex - it didn't work on Milk (didn't know Wags was getting that smart) and got the Pepsi 4/$13 get back $3 but the RR isn't printing so they are price modding it to 4/$10 -$3/$10 ivc = $1.75 a case.
Thanks for the Always info at Wags- I was just there for paper towels yesterday but didn't really look at the sale paper.

Here's a sharpie, so you don't have to worry about touchups. Now pop that collar bitch!

Settling in. Snuggling with JJ while Noah snoozes. JJ thinks Noah belongs to him. The word of the day is gentle! JJ's happy mommy's lap is back.
I can imagine that - my kids were always happy about that too!

Quote from _Gator_ :
True. I didn't even think of that. DH watched the show and asked me whether or not I dream about coupons. I lied and said No.

Coverlaugh

When I first started couponing I dreamt about coupons too.

Quote from gt6mk31 :
Keep a little score pad of how many times you are asked if you are "one of those extreme couponers". Inquiring minds want to know.

One of the other things that irritates me about the shows is when they say things like "I have saved $40,000". Well, no, not really. They might have accumulated $40,000 worth of product, but they didn't "save" $40,000 unless they would have purchased all that stuff even without the coupons.

And having to call in friends to come check out... what's the matter with the camera man, sound man, director, etc... Aren't they people? Oh wait... maybe they are supposed to be invisible and not really there. Suuuurrrre.
nod I agree!
Although sometimes I find myself justifying things I 'want' with that argument (even though I really wouldn't pay regular price for it..)

Quote from flugette :
gt, you bring up an interesting point - do you suppose this will have a negative impact on those of who do yard sale our excess? Whenever people ask where I get it all from, I always am honest and say I use an obscene amount of coupons. But maybe I should start coming up with a different answer...

I feel like I'm waking up from the dead. Yesterday, I was so sick, I couldn't get out of bed. Hubby stayed home and took care of the kids so I could stay passed out on the bed. I seriously couldn't move, everything hurt so bad. Even threw up the glass of water I had to drink with the meds. vomit

I feel much better today, well enough to walk around at least. But my son is sick, so we are all staying home. Was hoping to make it to the recycling center one last time this week, since I've only picked up 6 sets, but I'm gonna be happy with what I got. Not worth risking vomit mess in the van. shake head

Glad to hear you are settling in, thrift. hug So nice, those first few days after the baby's home. Make sure you give him lots of hugs. And I love the name Noah.

Ank, your littles ones are so precious, and I am so glad you decided to let go of the mommy-guilt. The good thing is - she's so young, she'll never remember this, thus she will never hold it against you. Wink And little ones in their casts are so precious. I have lots of pics of my middle girl child - she was born with a club foot and a new cast every week was part of her treatment. Precious memories.

OK, off to reading and catching up!!
Glad to hear you're feeling better!

But the article brings upa lot of good points - thanks for posting!

I'm all for keeping baby snuggly where they're supposed to be unless medically necessary. With me I wanted him out because my liver does the job of his while he's inside and well we all know my liver wasn't doing the job for my own body. I also did not want to endure pit again given JJ was nearly 24 hrs on pit. I'm glad it is all said and done and I went way faster than I thought.

I always laughed when people said take this time to rest up. Yeah right, when you have a family to run it kinda makes that impossible!

Oh and baby is Noah Isaias (Is-ay-ee-as) which is a derivative of Isaiah. I think Mini picked a good name.

Both boys are snoozing so I'm heading that way too.
I LOVE the name!!! As hard as I know it is, rest as much as possible. It's better to let things around the house go so you can rest and heal, than to drag out the recovery. (I know its hard, I think my 5th was the first time I actually 'got it' and really let the house go - it was a DISASTER after the first couple weeks LMAO )

Same here... they almost do that on the rare occasion we have it for breakfast. They get confused when there's no oatmeal or eggs. *laugh*

Wish we had that quaker q again. I am all out of oatmeal. It's funny because it seems that the more I stockpile stuff, the more goes out the door. DH is always finding someone who needs something! I am hoarding the few diapers I got though. We have friends who are having babies, so I have 2 boxes for each person and I just started my huggies q's (I know... I'm way behind) - so hopefully I'll have a few more dipes and some wipes stockpiled by July/August!

Speaking of babies... Mavis is quite the ham and stinking adorable. She and my toddler actually play together. It's so funny. Mavis is trying to give my toddler eskimo kisses right now. It's pretty cute. The funny thing is she does it with her mouth wide open and slobbery, so if you don't get just the tip of her nose - you get slimed big time! Eleanore keeps blowing raspberries on her cheek, and it is making her crack up with big baby belly laughs.

My oldest is so swollen and sore today. I am assuming that means all traces of the anesthesia are out of her system. She keeps saying she's having a hard time sleeping, but she is passed out hard on the couch right now. I need to run out and grab some apples for her to make applesauce. I'm so mad that I forgot to get them while I was out. *sigh*
I thought it was you who posted about oatmeal (guess my memory isn't *too* bad Big Grin )
Are you talking about quaker TQ or MQ? I have a bunch of MQs that expire at the end of the month - LMK if you want them.

OMG is it too late to put him up for adoption? My son has called 5 or 6 times in the last half hour -- from the grocery store -- asking me enchilada recipe questions. One. At. A. Time.

Yeah I agree, the $$ amount of savings is not gonna be the best number for giving a clear picture of how well one is saving. For instance, I had a friend the other day come to me so excited about her Walgreens receipt showing a savings of seventy-something dollars and while I was certainly happy for her I know that the savings totals on the bottoms of the receipts are always pretty high...given that their regular prices are so high, etc. It just isn't an accurate number I'd say. You can go cash out all of your RR's and it will make your 'savings' high at the bottom of the receipt.

I will say though I have been keeping track of the amount of savings this year though and it is kind of fun to see the number go up. And I have to remind myself that there are sooooo many ppl that pay full retail for all of that stuff EEK! So whether I am keeping it for my family or end up donating it it is still a 'savings' off of what the retail price is (heck most people probably pay full price for items they donate)....though I definitely get what some are saying about it not being a 'savings' if you weren't going to buy it in the first place too. It is fun though!

Geez, I might as well. He likes them the way I make them, so he is asking me how, but then he is changing it.Confused It's not that damn complicated.

Oh yes, and he also wants to make guac -- but he hates onions. I told him it was probably actually cheaper to buy some than to make it because avocados are high right now. I know this because earlier in the week I looked and I bought ready made -- the good real kind, not the "dip" kind.

With a couple Borders closing in our area. I've been thinking about making an offer on their shelving. They claim they are selling all items even fixtures.

you would be surprised but those used fixtures go for $$$. We had a discount clothing store go out of business and they sold everything too but even crappy, 40 year old fixtures were hundreds of dollars.

Ewww on the mayo. I don't know what it was and the package is already in the dumpster. I even checked the trash can, but nope, that bag is already out in the dumpster.

I got it at HyVee in the refrigerated section by the cheese -- not with the cottage cheese, chip dips, etc. It was in a stiff, fairly flat plastic bag sealed with no air in it and was $3.99 for a pound. It actually had chunks of avocado and is good. For comparison, I think Dean's is ok, but it tastes like a guac dip as opposed to real guac... if that makes any sense to you.

I have a hard time relaxing. I just see stuff I need to do, and I do it. Embarrassment I worked on pricing stuff for the GS. I did a little, but hopefully not too much. I am tired though. Thankfully we are having leftovers tonight, so I don't have to cook. woot

I totally understand about having the baby taken when there is medical stuff going on. They are monitoring me and I think I will be fine, but they were concerned and talked about taking my baby at 34 weeks. EEK! I am glad that we didn't have to do that. I do have a test tomorrow to check my iron again. Its been really low, even with supplements, so they are talking about IV iron Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Not looking forward to that either.

I think your DD did a good job with the name! heart
