The Wright's Law website is excellent. Hang in there. Many schools are sneaky & will try to pull the wool over your eyes at every move.

that's where I got the books from. Smilie

I'm staying on top of this school. I took my cell phone and recorded the convo with the principal today. I did some researching and talked to an experienced advocate that helps families with schools and she said I can record as long as one person in the room knows it's being recorded. That one person can be the person doing the recording. (as per Missouri state law) Unfortunately she didn't have much to say that I would say is "shocking" but I could tell she was not happy with my non-compliance with the communication of the school and the hospital.

Also, she pushed and pushed for me to get a 504 for tanner. I think her reasoning behind it is that if I agree and we do a 504, they can deny my request for an IEE and take me to Due Process. Then they can say "he did fine with a 504 so an IEP isn't necessary" and I would have been backed into a corner. I've never been one to be crammed into a corner and liking it.

Sounds like you are doing everything right to me, mama hug I'm glad you don't trust the school...they have THEIR best interests in mind, not Tanner's.

nod Hannas are the best! My 10 month old is wearing his big brothers favorite jumpers and they still look awesome. Wears like iron. LOL

New additions are fun! Babies are the bestest. Smilie I drool over girl's stuff. My brother has adorable identical twin girls, they are so stinking cute and I buy them lots of frilly stuff.

I wish I had remembered my gymbucks, my oldest is starting Kindergarten in the fall and we are going private. They have to wear uniforms and Gymboree has uniforms online. I really need that $5/$25 Cherokee uniform TQ to come back. LMAO

I love it when someone else is cooking! I love major holidays because my Gram still does the majority of the cooking. That woman has endurance and has been cooking for 30-40 people every holiday for 30+ years. Faint I'm bringing a broccoli, stuffing, and cheese side dish. Easy peasy. Smilie
I may make a cheesy broccoli rice something or other with all the Minute Rice I have laugh out loud That's a good idea!

LMAO you know, if that Hanna outlet would have been there in Williamsburg when I lived in southern VA, I would have had even more.

Here's one of my all-time favorite pics of the older three from early 2006. Monkey was wearing this exact shirt a few weeks ago and it made me so Hanna nostalgic. laugh out loud

I did that last week with creamers at the grocery store. The cashier pushed it through but I felt very :embarassed: when I found out!

How is the toddler and Ms. Mavis?
Mavis is doing great, toddler is hovering around 101ish and not seeming to be too bad off other than being cranky and trying my patience. I think I will cancel our little neighbor girl "schooling" tomorrow also.

At work, just finished my "official" taxes [snip]
The "If it fits, it ships" line for the Post Office has.to.go. I was told today that I overfilled my 4.95 envelope. It closed fine. [snip]
It was coupons for the past 2 weeks for the SIL. 8 copies of entire inserts.
Yay for finishing taxes - boo for owing a bit, and that is very weird about the envelope. I don't think 8 inserts sounds like a huge amount. I can't imagine it warping the package beyond reason. Sounds like they are being nit-picky.

Ank, I say once the sickness (es?!) are gone from our families, you and I get to go on a week long cruise to some lovely Caribbean island, where all we do is lay on the beach and drink fruity drinks with umbrellas. Not even any sightseeing.
Iagree

hug My brother is ADHD - which is not at all what you've been dealing with, but he did have to have an IEP. I remember my mother having to fight every inch of the way and every year. It sounds like you are in for a long, drawn out process. hug

I still don't know what that meant, but I tried to imagine CWS at first too Teehee

I was wondering about the sweet tea vodka. A friend received it at a bunco a few months back and we didn't know what to do with it.....beyond the obvious of course LMAO

I'm taking about 1.4 cubic tons of last year's Easter clearance in today for the kids' parties. Good Gravy. I gotta cut back for this year Doh

Good morning... had breakfast.

Toddler had breakfast.

Toddler re-served breakfast all over me.

Not sure which was worse - the spaghetti, or milk + oatmeal...

Mavis is cranky but good (and thankfully I think the cranky is just from being woke up a little too early)

So I don't know when I last updated on Tanner but I think I told everyone that he had an IEP in place at school. Well, they released him from his IEP saying their testing showed he no longer needed special education services. What? So anyhow. I moved forward with requesting an IEE. *for those not familiar, an IEE is an Independent Education Evaluation that the school has to pay for at their expense. If they agree, I find someone to do the evaluation and then I submit that to the school. We have a meeting to review and go from there. If they say no to the IEE, we go to Due Process which is basically like a court hearing of sorts.*
I have been out of the loop but....
Does the school have a parent advocate? Also does the community have a support program for the disability your child has? When you find other parents with the same disability you will able to network and find out what other school districts are doing with kids that share the same disability. Not all schools are willing to spend money for special education and will try to change the IEP or any other special placement into something that fits their school budget,
Both of my kids are out of k-12 program but IEPS where not a fun thing. I had my daughter's go hours long when I had the people in from the state sit in her meeting.

Online groups (yahoo) are wonderful to network. I use IEP_Guide (& others I can't think of now). If you can hook into something local, that's even better. My state didn't have anything, so I started a group years ago (I run several groups now, that's where all my time goes). You find out a lot when you start banding together w/ other parents. nod

Right there with ya! Give me a minute to pack my bags!!!

Girls are whiny this morning, and I just don't have the strength to deal with it. Plus it still hurts like the dickens to talk. I hate to constantly be putting them in front of the TV, but some days, that's all that stands between me and insanity. I think today is one of those days...

Yup, I'm totally with you on the bugs, sports, and random/ugly slogans. Target boy clothes are so bland. The girls at least get some sparkles. laugh out loud I have some C9, but only because it was free. I also have Shaun White, but I think we'll donate it to my church clothing closet. It's just ugly!
I love the Shawn White stuff. This past winter season was the only time I had ALL 3 boys in the same 'section' of clothing. DS#1 was a 14/16, DS#2 was a 7 and DS#4 was 4/5, so they could all be matching in thier SW tees and Hoodies. It was SO CUTE!!! But it's all shot to shit now, DS#1 is in Mens, DS#2 is STILL a 7 and DS#4 has moved up to 5/6.

We are supposed to get 4" - 6". Big, heavy, wet stuff. I guess I won't vacuum the pool today.laugh out loud Everything is already covered.

Today's plan:
laundry (already going)
vacuum dog hair (never ending -- but OMG the size of the dog hair bunnies in my guest room is scary... and embarrassing)
dinner: possibly the potato soup but maybe pork cutlets, haven't decided
???: And something else. I don't know what, but I need to accomplish something else.

Quote from rachael_9667 :
OOooo, I made a potato soup in the crockpot last week that was delish!
I don't care much for regular potato soup and I'm not even sure I'm all that wild about this one and I can't really tell you the difference, I just know it is a little different. I haven't made it in years and neither of us can remember if we really liked it or not. How dumb is that! Oh, well, I do know we don't hate it -- that we would remember. I'm just sick of making the same stuff all the time.
Quote from dreemedayze :
recorded the convo
If you are going to be doing a lot of that (and I probably would) you might pick up one of those digital recorders. Probably be more convenient than your phone. And do phones last very long? Like for an hour or more meeting? I got mine at KMart for ~ $30 so I'm sure you can find one cheaper than that. (Kmart is all we have locally and I didn't want to take time to shop around or order online)

Here's one that's just a little different that the standard rice/cheese/broccoli. I really like it.... and it involves a vegetable!

Broccoli Hot Dish

1 (10 oz.) Package frozen Broccoli
1 stick melted butter
1 1/2 cups Minute Rice (uncooked)
1 (8 oz.) jar of Cheez Whiz
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 can Mushrooms
1 can Water Chestnuts
1/2 cup chopped Onion
1 cup chopped Celery

Mix it altogether and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
