just had a sb vanilla frap and i think i prefer a freshly made dunkin donuts french vanilla iced coffee.... everything about it is so mild. mild coffee taste, very mild milk flavor, mild sweetness, i can't taste even the vanilla. i just bought them to try. maybe i will like the reg coffee one better?

BTW, I've been meaning to compliment the pics of your girls... I really need to stop posting in my mind.

Oh my goodness. I so wish I could take video and post it here. Mavis is standing up in her crib without holding on. She's got her hands in the air (think evangelical praise chorus) and laughing huge belly laughs until she falls over. Then she gets up and does it again! It's so stinking hilarious and adorable.

Bunnies.. sometimes if you make a paste out of baking soda and water and put it on bee stings it really helps. Might work on spider bites.

Storms and tornados twirling all around the area this evening...

Hello everyone! Heading back home today..well wont make it til tomorrow 11 hours down, 15 to go! Dodging storms as we travel. Left later than normal cause of the tornado warnings.
We did manage to stop by 2 targets the last 24 hours and get in on the ps3 deal got my dh a new one for fathers day cause his has been acting up.

I guess there is information out there stating it's possible for horseflies to transmit diseases. But, I have been bitten by them lots of times over my life and experienced nothing more than discomfort. I hate them. It was my least favorite part about swimming. They would circle around the pool waiting for you to come up for air.

Thank you. It makes me feel better that you have been bitten and survived! I'm sorry you got bitten though.

Oh my goodness! How old is she? What a memory this is going to make! Make sure you keep the receipts and when she is an adult you can bring it out and show it to her, but do it close to your birthday or Mother's day

i just got a call back from physical therapy. have the PCP referral but now they are saying the orthopedist's prescription has expired!! she said, go get a new prescription. he's away.


right now the earliest appointment for an evaluation (let alone therapy) is not for another 3 weeks. 3 weeks? But since I don't have a valid prescription anymore she's not sure she can even book that.

when will I get to walk without pain and hobbling again.
i want to scream.




BLACKENED MAPLE SHRIMP RECIPE
put 1lb shrimp in a bowl of cold water and let it sit for a while till it defrosts but is still chilly.
(i use peeled, deveined shrimp, just tail on. if yours is not peeled, make sure you do that, cos the fun is in eating the shrimp with the caramelized maple syrup clinging to the meat).

in another bowl mix up:
2 tablespoons maple syrup,
3 cloves crushed garlic (paste),
1/2 tablespoon spicy spanish paprika,
1/2 tablespoon sweet spanish paprika,
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

We always taste this mixture to make sure it has the right balance of sweet, spicy, tangy etc. if not, we adjust and add some more maple syrup.


Once defrosted, drain the shrimp, squeeze out any excess water, then pat dry.
In a bowl combine the shrimp with 2 tablespoons oilive oil. toss to coat well.

Then put the shrimp in maple syrup mixture, tossing to coat. marinate for 10 minutes.

heat a heavy bottomed stainless steel pan on medium heat. put in the shrimp in the pan and saute until the shrimp are opaque, and the maple syrup mixture caramalized about 6-8 minutes. transfer to bowl. scrape any mixture that is stuck to pan bottom and put in serving bowl (this stuff is uber delicious - looks blackened, but is not charred, just dark).

will take just a few minutes.

you can have it with a fresh salsa and some salad greens for a light meal.
or with seasoned grilled veggies and some brown rice.
or as the filling for fajitas or soft tacos
theoretically also in a quesadilla or burrito, but we find that shrimp are so full of delicious flavor, it's best to eat them unmasked without layers of heavy cheese etc.





thank you for the good wishes, sweets. long, tiring road this has been. but it'll make me a better person somewhere along the way, right? and perhaps eventually when I drop all this post accident weight and get mobility back, it might even make me healthier cos i know i will hit the gym HARD as soon as i am able.

chicken... try this recipe [foodnetwork.com] if you feel like it. super easy to make. i made it a few weeks ago - was very, very delicious. light, crunchy, baked, with yummy lemon sauce on the side. will pair very nicely with the asparagus. i love asparagus too.

Just paid for my new hearing aids. These are the ones I am getting..2 Hansaton Velvet RIC (Pure 700) Hearing Aids Aid,MR,

I was looking at the Siemens.....but these are the generic version made from siemens. The main difference I can see is I am not getting the rechargable batteries. but isn't that one of the reasons I shop at wags???

Now those out there that know more than I about these...please let me know..If I am dumb for getting these....I am a wee bit scared and all..

Oh yea if I got the Seimens I think the price difference was $500.

I need to get into the store shortly that sale and now catching up on the threads is killing my shopping this week.
