First time I've felt one in NC. Whee

At least I'm pretty sure that's what we just felt... office was shaking for several seconds. Nothing big, but unusual for here.

Having NEVER experienced an earthquake in those places, chances are they didn't even know what it was when it happened. When a building shakes in NYC, your first thought is bomb, not earthquake.

I lived in Nevada for two years, the third most seismically active state, and today earthquake was bigger than anything I felt in NV for two years, the ones I felt in Nevada were a single wave, this shaking for a good 15+ seconds, definitely the strongest I've felt (I'm in a conference center about 90 miles north). this conference center is a concrete mess, I'm not sure if I feel good or bad about that wrt earthquakes Dontknow

I live near a train track, and at first I was like, "Whoa, mighty big train coming down the track today!" And then stuff started falling off the walls, and I was all like, "Hey, this might not be a train!" And then my son came running down the stairs, yelling, "EARTHHHHHHHHHHHHHHQUAKEEEEEEEEEE!" And then I was all like, "Whoa, yeah! Earthquake!" And then.....it was over.
