I'm no pro, but I can definitely lend a hand if you'd like a new avatar or need some help with your existing one (and if I can't help hopefully someone here can help you)!
Here are some samples of work I have done. Please don't ask me to create something from scratch... I'm not that artistically gifted.
I'm better at tweaking/resizing/altering images, adding backgrounds, special effects, etc. - and squeezing the crap out of current gifs to get them to fit into the tiny file size limitation.

PG, I can't view the image at your link. Can you save it to your computer and upload it to SD? It probably just needs to be resized.

If you compare yours to mine, you can see I did make the mirror bigger. I just increased the image size to 66x66 and brought the mirror out to the edge. Here is the original with a slightly larger mirror:
