I applied and was accepted as a volunteer at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim in Miami this past summer. The acceptance rate for that was only 1%, and if you can believe it, the odds for being accepted to New York Fashion Week are even slimmer. But I'm crossing my fingers that I get in to New York for this Spring! If not, I guess I'm only out $1.50, but I'll still be a little disappointed

If you don't volunteer, there are still lots of activities. Especially lots of celeb spotting. If you dress nicely, and wait patiently outside the shows, a lot of times they will pull people from the crowd to come watch the shows to fill seats.

Bleh. Having an awful day. Started with me waking to realized that I can't move the big toe on my left foot at all. The doctor has no clue what could be causing it as I didn't drop anything on it, run into anything wear heels, exercise, or do anything that could've possibly caused some kind of stress to the area. If it doesn't start getting better by the end of tomorrow he wants me to get XRays taken On top of that, my foot was so swollen, the only thing I could get on was my boyfriend's slippers which are way too big for me. I probably looked ridiculous hobbling around work today in giant slippers Anywho. Does anyone have any sort of experience with things like this or any idea what could be wrong?

I'm also having computer issues. A system restore did nothing to fix it, so I'm probably going to have to do a clean install of Windows... except I don't have the discs at school with me. So my computer will probably be out of commission until Christmas. Shopping from my phone just isn't quite the same

Also... Voting ends tomorrow (or tonight at midnight - I'm not entirely clear on that) for the scholarship that I'm a finalist in and I've been stuck in second place for weeks. What's worse is that the site disabled the feature that lets you see how many votes each person has, so I have no clue if I'm even anywhere close to winning. Super bleh.

Then... a pair of boots that I ordered from Wet Seal on Black Friday arrived today - which I thought would be the one thing that might get me out of this funk - but I can't zip them up over my calves. And, of course, they were on clearance so I can't return them.

Sorry for the novel... Just needed to vent a little.

Awww, hun...it seems like everything's going wrong for you today! Is there any way that someone could mail you the CDs for the system restore? Otherwise, if your comp is still under warranty, I know Dell (and I'm assuming other mfr's) will mail the CDs to you if you "can't find" them lol (at least they have in the past, I think I have like 4 copies now haha)...w/ regard to your big toe, is your entire foot swollen? Or just the area near the big toe? Is there any redness? Are you having difficulty moving it because of pain, stiffness, or both (or some other reason lol)? And has this ever happened before? It sounds like your dr is on top of things with the x-rays, and maybe some lab work too? It's hard to know what might be causing it, just cuz the differential includes everything from trauma to gout to rheum disorders, but the tests should help with that...I hope you feel better soon! Oh and good luck with the scholarship! We're rooting for you!

I think I still have a couple months left on my warranty. I'll try contacting them tomorrow.

The entire foot is swollen, but for some reason it's just the big toe that's the problem. I can't bend/wiggle it due to stiffness and if I try to put any pressure on it while walking it hurts. I never realized how important the big toe actually is until today. I've never had any sort of foot injuries/serious problems in the past. Every now and then when it's cold my feet will cramp up, but that never lasts more than a minute and usually goes right away if I flex them.

I hope you will feel Better tomorrow Vsshopper. I feel sometimes some days are just not "right".

Yeah, it's the same thing with ribs - until my mom fractured hers a few months ago, we never really thought about how important they are! But when they are messed up, you realized really quickly just how much they are involved in
