Ebay Question:

Does anyone have experience shipping to Russia? I clearly state in all of my auctions that I will consider shipping internationally ONLY if I am messaged beforehand about a price quote. Well, someone bought a piece of clothing from me, and they live in Moscow. They only have 1 positive feedback. It's going to cost $12 to ship it there, much higher than my listed $2.95 domestic rate. Would you guys email the buyer and ask them to pay more shipping, or should I just cancel the transaction alltogether?
Couple of years back I shipped something to Russia. Buyer had positive many feedback from US sellers and communicated positively. I had bought insurance online and asked the buyer to pay for it. Her only request was to mention the item as below some specified rate so she won't need to visit the custom office before they release the item and make her pay for custom duties. I did as she requested but I was only convinced to do that because she sounded like a genuine buyer. I never shipped anything internationally after that because I realized once the package leaves US there is no way to track it and if buyer wants he/she can screw you by filling item not received.

My suggestion is do not sell it to buyer who had less than 10 feedback shake head

I would cancel the transaction. Not worth the risk and the extra $ out of your pocket to ship it. Most likely the buyer just wasn't paying attention.

Bella, when I was selling on eBay I sold a lot of things to Russia and most of them went to Moscow. Prices are craaaazy in Moscow. My dad lives there and he goes nuts shopping when he comes here. He can't believe how cheap stuff is here and we don't necessarily hit big sales.

I personally would contact a person saying how much shipping would cost. Again, $12 is not that much money for someone who lives in Moscow.

Hey I don't have time to read back too far, so I don't know if this has been posted, but FYI Mypoints has 300 points for *every* purchase at Beauty.com. Also, the It cosmetics brow pencil is still available as a GWP with a $10 purchase, so those two thing together makes a great deal IMO. The brow pencil is great and it works for almost everyone.

I just had an amazing mail day! I opened my Nordstrom box, and HOLY COW! The GWP is much better than I even thought. I love the mini perfumes! Everything is much bigger than I thought it would be as well. It was like getting 10 100 point perks from sephora.

I also got my target order with Missoni things. I placed my order 4 days ago and just got it now. I also went online and noticed that target reduced their Missoni things AGAIN. A lot is OOS, but if you spend $75, you get 20% off. I called Target, and they actually refunded me the difference in price (based of the original price, not the reduced price).

I am one happy camper!

I thought the same thing about the nordstrom gwp.

I'm not shopping now because I'm going out of town later this week. Don't want to annoy the neighbors with my packages.

Thanks for the heads up! How do you get the brow pencil? Is it supposed to automatically show up in the bag or is there a promo code? TIA!

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone Smilie

I think I'm just going to cancel the transaction. I had something like this happen to me with a lip palette - someone bought in Australia, refused to pay extra for international shipping, and then tried to file a claim against me!

** Speaking of Missoni for Target.. is anyone else excited about the Jason Wu for Target collection coming out next week?? I am woot

They expect you to pay extra to ship it to them...it's ridiculous. My fav is when international people buy stuff from me that I have listed with free shipping, with no international shipping. Like I'm going to spend $20 to ship it to them for free.
