if it's a taxable item, even if you get it free, the tax you pay should be on the price pre-coupon.

the other day i redeemed my free haircolor that cost $12. The coupon brought it down to 0; The tax was 1.xx

that's always the general practice

the only time there's no tax is if its like a pack of gum or a grocery item that has never been cooked/heated; even with sodas and stuff, you pay the crv
