What happened was we did a phone trade and he gave me his Iphone which I thought was fully working. I tested it out and everything seemed good. I go home and the usb cable that plugs into the Iphone only goes in halfway and if I move the cable just a little bit it disconnects from the computer. I contacted him and he says its a small problem and he didnt think he should have ran it by me. Now he is ignoring me after I asked him to just undue the trade or pay $20-$40 so I can fix it somewhere.
Well Im kind of ticked off and dont get how someone would just do that and not try to resolve the issue. And before anyone goes and says its my fault that I didnt test the phone, no one would think to plug in a usb cable to see if it fits in the Iphone. Anyways, stupid of him he forgot to wipe his contacts and his facebook account. What would you do in my place? Let it go? Iphone warranty ran out so its coming out of my pocket.

Seriously, you spent your money. No one spent it for you. Is it not your responsibility to ensure when you spend your money you get what you pay for?
took me 24 hours to get my money back. Showing up at someones house when they don't thing u know where they live is priceless.
Its also nice scaring the shit out of them.
Bought $350 iphone, it was stolen....Got my money back, enuf said.
I would have plugged it into a charger. I'm obviously out of my mind
You should absolutely be doing a thorough inspection and asking questions. As others have mentioned, caveat emptor. I definitely agree that the guy (ethically) should have told you what was wrong, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do your own due diligence to ensure the phone is working properly. You're both at fault here.
Yay for taking business law classes.
You could easily take over the world with the crazy schemes you come up with.
