He's making an unreasonable request. I'd have no problem getting out of my car if he wanted to talk to me. But if he doesn't have the right to search me, then he can't. In addition, unless there is a cause for him to search my vehicle, when he asks if he can search my vehicle, he'll be told no.

I disagree. There are even people in the thread who sympathize with the protesters and feel the police were in the right. There was no unneeded action on the part of law enforcement. LEOs have a duty to uphold the law, these people broke the law, they were removed after the refused to comply.

To answer z2G's question about dispersion of the crowd... if anything needed to be done, why not just cite them with a fine, the same way MUCH more dangerous crimes are dealt with? If I do ~20MPH over the limit in a school zone, endangering the lives of children, I get a ticket...but if I sit on my ass and voice my opinion on a sidewalk, I get pepper-sprayed? That doesn't seem balanced to me. Does it to you?

You just don't like THE MESSAGE that these protesters are saying, so you feel that it is ok for the police to do what they did

Just like in the 60's certain WHITES did not like THE MESSAGE that the blacks were saying, so they were ok with the police doing what they did

Both are dumb causes to people who have biased and hated views, you don't like the message so its ok to KILL IT.. Thats the kind of person you are..

How many times do you need to be issued a ticket before you stop breaking the law? How many times does it take for you to be issued a ticket, you still refuse to follow the law and you're arrested? When should you get pepper sprayed for resisting arrest?

if you trespass, do you just get a fine? or do you get arrested 1st?
also if you're speeding along at 200 mph, im pretty sure the police will arrest you 1st

Thank you for answering my question. That's all I wanted. I'm trying to keep an open mind and was honestly curious what pro-protesters ppl think is a solution. Instead, I'm met with anger and the same repeating answer that doesn't answer my question.

So, after the cops cite them with a ticket, then what happens? They're allowed to stay? Do they keep getting cited for any additional hour/day that they remain there.....like when you're illegally parked and your car will keep accruing tickets until you move it?

They are still camping on a area for more then a few hours much like those students..

However good to see that you missed the bottom pic of all the homeless Californians who have resorted to setting up camp in your fiscally disasterous state

Believe me your statements and post on this thread clearly showed you are NO FAN of these OWS or OCCUPY movement and that any mistreatment and use of force in stopping it is ok in your eyes..

And unlike you while I may kid and smear and overall make fun of Tea Partiers alike, I would be appualed if the police came in and started macing and beating them..

Because I believe everyone has a RIGHT TO PROTEST regardless of how stupid or valid it is, and any form of crackdown or assualt by gov't forces is UNCONSTITUTIONAL

You're right. I think they're a bunch of lazy hippies who just want a free handout from the gov't. For someone who is so pro-anarchy it seems, I'm shocked you even support them. You don't want a police state, but you want full gov't assistance like these lazy hippies?

There was no mistreatment and misuse of force here, period. You can think that my dislike for the movement and the idiots involved in it has something to do with my opinion there, or you can just actually understand that they got what they deserved based on the law and police procedures.

You are right, everyone has the right to protest. They don't, however, have the right to break the law. This includes blocking the sidewalk as well as rape, assaulting police officers, and using and selling drugs.

Oh? So, the Davis protesters were only camped out there for a few hours prior to being pepper sprayed?

I assumed it was for at least several days at least because there's documentation that the school officials sent them official warnings in writing.

By the way, I'm stilling waiting on your answer to my very SIMPLE question. Yes or no?
