According to the FBI, over 1.5 million background checks on customers were requested by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in December. Nearly 500,000 of those were in the six days before Christmas. It was the highest number ever in a single month, surpassing the previous record set in November. |

Actually, none this year.
DH said we will go to the range this weekend so we can try them. He thinks maybe the .380 will be good for me. There is a gun show here this weekend so he said once we get a better idea of what caliber and such, we can check out the show.
The Beretta Cheetah was okay, definitely handled it well, but I liked the way the XD felt better. I also got to hold and mess with the Bersa Thunder and could handle that well too. Right now I am looking into how to carry them (types of holsters) since I am a girl and clothes fit differently on me. I am apprehensive about carrying in a purse.
On another note, a group of 10 black women were there at the range shooting and were taking photos of one another shooting and then posing with the guns "Charlies Angels" style.

You may also want to try the Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm. If I was to buy a new 9mm today, that is what I would buy.
Read a bit about them here [smith-wesson.com].

FD's only hesitation may be "safety features".
the problem they are having is that the non jacketed nose rounds are usually the cheapest rounds and they lack the quality control for powder load and consistency that the CCI rounds you are using have.
Thus the major price difference between the two rounds.
I personally won't use anything but CCI mini-mags in any of my 22 rifles or handguns simply because i have more problems with cheap ammo across all the guns than ammo in a specific gun.
if you watch slick guns dot com you can mail order purchase 2500 CCI rounds for about the same as you would pay at a local gun show or ammo retailer.
