One doesn't need to make $120k+ a year in order to be "wealthy" or "well off" - it's all in how one handles their money and what they do NOT spend it on. Those $5 jeans from the Thrift Shop sure do look good on me, and I'm not the least bit afraid to say where I got them from. Gap Jeans for $5 you bet, rather than paying $45 to $50 brand new
I love being a cheap farker.
Wife accompanied me on three international projects for work
Outside of that, we've taken three other trips overseas since getting married
No debt until recently (just bought a van, other two cars were owned outright)
Still have a well funded 401(k), liquid savings and "toys" around the house (hp touchpad, desktop, laptop, apple tv, etc.) Some purchased new some purchased on CL
It's about two main things:
Living within your means, but finding ways to be happy in doing this
Exploiting opportunities to save
This should help s'plain why "other people" seem so happy compared to "you":

Where you then go out in your Benz and drive up the coastline for a leisurely ride,
just to find the perfect place on a Saturday evening to "dine" with the "boy"
Does it mean im well off/ rich if at xmas im asked for ideas for my present from relatives and dont get upset when wife doesnt buy my birthday/xmas presents.
We all know he's a broke-ass, cheap, lying fool.

I don't mean "you", I mean how many people "see" others thanks for fb, forums, etc.
