Base on what criterias do you rank people?

611 189 February 6, 2012 at 11:15 AM in Chat
I'm going to put this out there first before asking this question. I believe that our brainpower lasts longer than our physical appearance. Almost every nice looking person in this world will one day grow old and become unattractive but brainpower is there with them until the day they die or acquire Alzheimer. With that being said and since I am in college right now I will start up with the college environment. Does anyone here rank people based on what their major are in college - kind of like the caste system? The more difficult major require higher rank in high school - meaning people who excelled in every class in high school are allowed admission to that specific major.

I'm curious about this because whenever I walk around campus, I always see people wearing shirts that may have one of the following phrases on them "College of Liberal Art, College of Natural Science, College of Engineering, College of Business." Does this mean that they want to be ranked based on their major?

Hey, it gives you a range, at least. I'm above 157 and below 314. Wink Sometimes knowing within a factor of two is doing pretty well. (I can think of a lot of times when I *wished* I knew whether projects would meet their deadlines...even within a factor of two.)

Not much into "ranking" people myself. I know a few people who can get pretty rank after an hour in the dojo, but that's not something I would personally be proud of.

Well, I respect those majors that improve my life. I think that is just the right thing to do. Which majors in college has made the greatest contribution toward making our lives easier? And which majors in college are just there to provide jobs for the ones who can't make it in the outside world?
touchy subject. i USED to think med students (former one Smilie ) were higher up then nursing students...and well fine art majors were wayyyyy better then graphic artist PPFFFTTTT (former art student Smilie)
but my thinking was flawed. u see. as u get older. majors dont say much about ppl. they dont SAY ANYTHING AT ALL.

Speaking of which...not to ruffle any feathers, isn't there something grammatically wrong with the title? Scratchchin

It's just that the OP is genetically superior and a certified genius .....Dontknow
I don't know which planet you are from, but on my planet, grammar doesn't improve the quality of life for people. Math and science are the main skills that help improve our lifestyle. As a matter of fact, you can develop an algorithm to write an essay for you. If you want a creative essay, you can even use artificial intelligence in conjunction with a writing algorithm. But since creative essays do not improve quality of our lives, mathematicians and scientists didn't bother wasting their time on developing such algorithm.

laugh out loud It's so funny, In college it not always rank people by the shirt they wore just tell u which they belong
I was thinking that colleges give shirts out to students to remind them of their places in society. With that being said, I know my place in society, do you know your place?

The Hindu got it right when they developed the caste system so I don't know why they abandoned it. Colleges in the US work the same way as far as I see it. People are allowed to enter a specific college (caste) based on their performance in high school. How well they did in high school depended on their genetics and work ethics.
