There are many theories on the causes of obesity. Some say too much fat, too many calories. Ironically, many of the modern diets have generally failed to fix the problem.

The above video is long. For people who will reply with tl;dr here is the synopsis:

Watch it if you get a chance. I really enjoyed it and found it both eye opening and informative, without needing some shock factor or sex to sell it. It follows a simple premise and makes a lot of sense.

I agreed that sugar can be a problem. I never agreed that it is the problem.

woo wooo woooo, hold your horses. I agreed sugar is an accomplice to the real problem -- fiber, fat, lazy, calorie intake, portion control, PE, etc.

That's soooo 2 horus ago. He changed the OP. He now says sugar is an accomplice to the real problem. I can buy that. Calories and portion control are the real problems, and being fat and lazy are also accomplices.

He even took a vec OT joke seriously. Max needs to be retrained in our ways.

Indeed, he does. He has forgotten us and and our ways.

If you think playing dodgeball with your family is even REMOTELY COMPARABLE to playing it in school with a few dozen other kids your age that may or may not hate you, you are even more deluded than I thought. Rofl2

And please read my previous post about survival of the fittest. Facepalm

You guys seriously need to learn what that phrase actually means.

They somehow don't notice the hours you spend daily on slickdeals! Clearly they're not that observant! bulb

I feed them lots of sugar to make them fat. That way i don't have to work as hard at knocking them out with the dodgeball/baby. It's because I'm lazy which, as OP has made so clear, is not a leading contributor to obesity.

And I already read your post on survival of the fittest. So how are you going to procreate when everyone is dead from dodgeball injuries?

Sort of, as that doesn't explain people with lower calorie diets who still are obese or obese 6 month old (yes they exist)

Calorie, exercise, etc all are part of it, but if one thing had to be labeled as a big cause, along with a complete lack of fiber it's the prevalence of sugar in everything. Also how it got there, what it does to eating habits of children over time, etc.

Again, the video can explain a lot better than I can.

So it's not sugar PERIOD. It's sugar and how it got there and why our bodies can't handle it (the fiber piece)

I have two monitors, and one of them doesn't face anyone else. And I must be doing something right (working my ass off) if I'm getting promoted.

Does all that broth you're drinking help to improve brain function? If not, you should find something that does. Tongue
