I didn't check Tivo last night, I should have but forgot the race was on Fox this week. It didn't tape because the title didn't include Formula One in it, Fox in their infinite wisdom decided to simply title it the European Grand Prix. We missed the first 19 laps! Ranting Ranting Ranting Ranting Ranting
I was soo happy to have remembered to check last night nod FOX is not your friend shake head

on the positive side, the USGP is NOT on FOX, so you get less commercials and live coverage on SPEED, it'll be a long time, if ever, before FOX puts up F1 on a football Sunday.

I saw it all, it was another great race. I really hope this continues all the way to the USGP. a close title fight and competitive racing would be GREAT for the first USGP in Austin, I have high hopes for the track being able to provide some good racing, they have as many as three natural overtaking positions, way more than circuits like Valencia which barely had one.

I wanted Grosjean to win, looked like they might have had the pace with some help on strategy, too bad the car let up. Doh it was fun, though, and as usual, I can't believe Hamilton threw it all away

I changed the channel and missed the end. Damn it!

Do I really need to see a slow motion replay 5 times of the same thing. What the hell?!?!

My mom turned me on to Formula 1 racing a couple years ago. All my life I had no idea that she followed it!

I thought it was all Hamilton's fault, he was too agressive trying to hang onto a podium position when he should have been worrying about finishing the race for the points, during such a tight race for the championship. However the stewards saw it differently and gave Maldonado a 20 second penalty, not that it helps Hamilton.

Quote :
The stewards, however, did not see it Maldonado's way as the 27-year-old was given a retrospective drive-through penalty, adding 20 seconds to his elapsed race time, costing him his 10th place.

You must be racist to call Hamilton an idiot, cuz according to his way of driving or thinking, he can't do wrong. He lies to the stewards in Aussie few years ago and thinks he did no wrong. He doesn't leave room for others to pass him and causes accidents and he thinks it's their fault yet when he does it while trying to pass, it's the other drivers fault. You are not Nylon, shit will stick and you have got to learn that. Didn't crashing into Massa so many times not teach you a thing?

Fox sucks, I don't even bother with Fox F1 coverage. I think Speed is bad enough with their stupid length of commercials during the race.

Got to love the internet where the brits stream their BBC Sky sports feeds. They cover F1 like the US covers Nascar (tons of good stuff). Speed has yet to get consistent post race coverage from the interview pit where all the drivers go, they have never talked to team principals after the race like the BBC boys do and we have no personal stories of any of the drivers.
Speed didn't even get any coverage of the US NJ driving stuff did they? I saw Lee Mckenzie ride along with DC in an Infiniti G37 around the track but I doubt Speed even sent anyone there. What a joke of a station that calls itself speed. Hope F1 coverage is bought by BBC America next time it's up for grabs.

SpeedTV board is the biggest joke too.

Hamilton is young and hot headed and I'd hoped he would have matured more by now but he is my favorite driver. Did you see the post about how the stewards sided with Hamilton?

Will Buxton rode with Mark Webber in an infiniti track event recently for SPEED, they aired that during the formula 1 debrief show that is aired Friday nights before race weekends. They routinely air post race driver interviews from the pit during F1 debrief, as well.

This past weekend they at least showed brief clips of Vettel driving the NJ circuit and on Letterman, along with info from a F1 festival in NY (They did not cover the formula expo in Austin, but they did cover Andretti talking about COTA and driving the partially paved track in an SUV)

Yeah I saw how the Stewards sided with him this time but they are wrong. BBC was saying how MAL basically T-boned him but I saw it as HAM turned into MAL. Hamilton did not give any room for MAL to return to the track, while 5 other passes happened there yesterday without any incident except for when HAM was involved.

I was so excited when the accident happened I was beside myself yesterday. Crashilton as they like to call him lived up to his nickname. Too bad Schwerzinger wasn't there to show us her ugly mug while we were at it. I hate seeing her on TV, just like I hate seeing HAM and Button's dad. Now Jessica is totally opposite.

Wow, that's a lot of hate.

I thought it was Hamilton's fault too. He shouldn't have been pushing so hard when his tires were that bad. He should have been more focused on getting points for fourth place than on getting on the podium. With the drivers race so crowded this year, he really needed those points.

Yes, my hate has been growing over the years.

I don't mind him pushing to try to keep the position, as all drivers are going to be aggressive but be smart and push him off line and defend your position without forcing the other driver to have to stop in order to avoid the accident. I like his driving style and passing anywhere you can not just at the usual spots but he's also got to learn to let others pass once in a while. He probably could have kept his position at that corner had he given MAL some more room to rejoin the track, he knew he was not going to keep the position with his tires so worn down. He should have played it smart like you said and took the points.

the funny part is that he has repeatedly, and sometimes justifiably, complained about other drivers turning in early on him, but in this case he clearly didn't leave any room for someone nearly along side of him. He knew MAL had to get back on track, I'm not sure what else he expected to happen.

P.S. first official support race for the USGP was announced today: historic GP Whee 1966 - 1983 F1 cars operated by private owners, if I recall the announcement correctly. should be fun.

Meant to say on the previous reply, Sky Sports is nothing to do with the BBC, it's own by Rupert Murdock. Smilie
