Honestly, no big deal. Quite frankly, they should be. Within 2 years all online retailers will be required to collect state sales tax.

I'm actually surprised this whole sales tax issue has lasted as long as it has considering many states have blown their budgets through obligations and over-promising benefits and online sales only grow in double-digits every year.

I personally do not care about the taxes since I am not poor and can afford to pay it.

Pay your taxes people and stop bitching.

Amazon pulled a one over me. Placed my order for $550 on June 26th and Amazon didn't ship it until this morning just so they could charge me the tax.

Weird... Ordered something today from 3rd party sellers and there was no tax added. So is it just items from Amazon's warehouse in Texas that are taxed? Scratchchin

Agreed with Count_Chocula...it seems the 3rd party is not located in Texas...is the product fulfilled by Amazon? it may still not count if they are not located in Texas even if Amazon is and they fulfill it

Looked, but couldn't easily ascertain where the 3rd party seller is located. The item is fulfilled by Amazon.

it may get complicated when it is fulfilled by amazon, but they could as well argue that they are an intermediary just like UPS. I would assume the 3rd party seller does not charge taxes in texas
