commences at 12:00:01 AM (ET) on May 1, 2012 and ends at 11:59:59 PM (ET) on May 20, 2012
open to legal residents of the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States and District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or the age of majority in their jurisdiction of legal residence (whichever is older) at the time of entry.
Limit one (1) entry per person.
Entries must include an original essay of two hundred fifty (250) words or less original in response to the following question (the "Entry Essay") that will be posed on Website: Tell us about yourself and why you should get a first look at upcoming summer movies and join the MTV News team at the 2012 Movie Awards in 250 awesome words or less.
Judging Criteria: The Judges will judge the Eligible Entries based on originality (30%), creativity (30%) and persuasiveness of essay (40%). The Judges reserve the right to conduct phone interviews with any entrant in order to clarify any information on his or her entry.
Grand Prize (1):
The one (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip for one (1) to be used by the one (1) Grand Prize Winner to travel to Los Angeles, California, to attend Sneak Peek Week and The 2012 MTV Movie Awards (the "Events"), currently contemplated to take place on June 3, 2012 but subject to change in VMN's sole discretion and the opportunity to appear on air and online in News Hits and Digital Live Streams. The trip will include: (a) roundtrip coach class air transportation for Grand Prize Winner which shall originate from an airport of VMN's choice nearest Grand Prize Winner's residence (as determined by VMN) to Los Angeles, CA (VMN reserves the right to substitute ground transportation for air transportation if the Grand Prize Winner resides within 150 miles of Los Angeles, CA); (b) round trip ground transportation for Grand Prize Winner between airport and hotel in Los Angeles, CA (c) seven (7) nights hotel accommodations in Los Angeles, CA for the Grand Prize Winner which shall be one room based on single occupancy (meals, telephone calls, tips and other incidentals and costs are not included); (d) access to the Events for Grand Prize Winner and (e) a per diem meal allowance up to $45 for the Grand Prize Winner (collectively, the "Grand Prize"). An MTV film crew may film news segments at the Events that may, in VMN's sole discretion, include the Grand Prize Winner and, if so, Grand Prize Winner will be required to sign a standard guest performer release from VMN. The dates for fulfillment of the Grand Prize will be on or around May 28, 2012 through on or around June 4, 2012, subject to programming requirements and such dates are subject to change in VMN's sole discretion.
The approximate retail value ("ARV") of the Grand Prize is up to $4,500.00
