Jesus Christ, what's wrong with kids these days?
Karen Klein a 65 year old bus monitor is mercilessly bullied and verbally harassed by a group of middle schoolers on their way home from Athena Middle School in Greece, New York.
Here's the video link [youtube.com]. And it broke my heart.
Support has been pouring in and indiegogo [indiegogo.com] has collected over $440,000 for her!
Spare the rod...Spoil the child. I'd like to slap these kids silly.

In the disturbing video, the children can be heard yelling at Klein, calling her an "ugly fat ass" and telling the widow, "you don't have a family because they all killed themselves because they don't want to be near you."

If she was a bus driver during those times then she should have known how to deal with kids...obvously she learned nothing driving the bus...because all the good bus drivers know how to handle the kids.
The monitor is usually there to make sure no one gets hurt. It might have been a case of one student who gets seizures needing a bus aid on that bus which would then mean she is there to help if that happens.
None of us know exactly what her function was. Everyone is guessing as to what they think her job was and how she performed.
Also the bus driver is in charge. The aid will take her cue from the driver. If the driver allows the kids to be somewhat loud then the aid will tolerate it to a point. The aid can step in and also reprimand the students but we don't know if she had any backing from the driver. From what I read it doesn't look like the driver gave any support. I did not watch the video. I had my 28 years of driving school kids and I didn't feel compelled to watch.

How is this not a racial hate crime? Each of the last two mornings on the news this was followed by that Teflon Martin kid in Florida...that is a big race thing...yet this isn't...how come?

But I agree - although I think it's worse to do to another kid. An adult should be able to handle a few punk kids, I would think. A kid isn't really equipped yet to deal with harassment to that degree emotionally and mentally, IMO.
